    Tundra Key FOB 2023.jpg

Strange Problem. 2023 Tundra original FOB would lock out (Not Communicating with the Truck). Cannot Lock or unlock Doors. Instrument Cluster says something like, No Key Detected. Sometimes it says hold FOB to Push/Start Button (This works). Replaced Battery, now works OK for a day or maybe two weeks. Then the FOB issue starts over. Second FOB arrives (6-7 months later), Toyota Programs it. Looks Good. The very next day, FOB issue again and now with the 2nd new FOB. Cannot lock or unlock. Truck does not recognize or see a Key/FOB.

I'm going to carry both FOBs on me and the next time this happens, see if the alternate FOB works or is locked out. Maybe one works and the other does not or may both are dead.

Another Post talked about putting the FOB in the Center Console Cup holder area and see if communication comes back. I'll try that.

Toyota suggested maybe have the vehicle towed in the next time this happens so they can see the problem when it is happening. I understand it is a difficult problem to troubleshoot when it's not broke. I took the truck in shortly after I bought it new and they replaced the battery. They told me it was the battery. This was the first or second time. Now it has happened 6-10 times and I figured out all I need to do is pop the battery and stick it back in to reset the FOB (It's not the battery). I have purchased 3-4 batteries until I decided to just reset the FOB by pulling the battery out and just stick it back in. That works every time.

This happened to my first main key but only because I jumped into a pool for a good 15 seconds before realizing the key was in my pocket. Kept changing the batteries (maybe 3 times) after it stops working at random times. Got my second key and now it’s my main key. The first key sits in a safe

Been having the same issue with my fob by having to touch the start button with it to crank. Replaced battery and nothing changed..My second fob is now ready so they are going to program the new one and work on the original one all on the same day while also doing the recall and working on another issue with an “adjust seat message” that always pops up. I’ll let you know after the Wednesday appointment if there has been any resolution.

Well got second fob and still having the same issue. Vehicle in shop now since Thursday and hopefully will be returned next Tuesday. They are making another key to see if that’s the issue and also repairing heated drivers seat that quit working..

I know this message is kinda old but I'm curious what the issue and/or fix was for the adjust seat message?

My truck pops up with this every time I get in and start it but sometimes when I click no it then pops back up again immediately and I click no again, then it's good and doesn't come back till I restart next time. I have a plat and my wife and I just use the seat memory buttons on drivers door. I wonder if mine is an issue that can be fixed or it's just what it does.

That’s another issue they were working on as well but the dealership hasn’t mentioned it being fixed yet? Maybe I’ll know next week.

Bummer, most of us the LINKing of the key fob took care of the seat memory issue.

Do you mean linking the key to the seat memory buttons on the driver's door or linking with the profiles in the head unit?
I was only able to link one key to the profiles in the head unit since my wife and I can't have two profiles and have remote start access so we only have one profile.

Yep. Hope the dealer can figure it out for you.
