    Greetings everyone!

i just got a harrop kit on the way with d3 stage 2 stuff. Im going to install it myself on my 19 trd pro with friends and have been watching many videos on the supercharger. I noticed that the supercharger is somewhat quiet and tame. I think it would be more exciting to hear it so i did some digging and came upon this mod:
    https://youtu.be/w_HcAVt6QT8

    https://www.fosterscmods.com/collections/universal-kit/products/universal-kit-customer-fitment

was wondering if it was necessary or if there were alternatives like swapping the stock 5.7L toyota airbox with a cone filter for more noise. I also noticed the harrops intake is on the left side of the truck facing from the front compared to the yotuube videos of the airbox being on the drivers side. Are you guys satisfied with the whine output? I mean its part of the supercharger experience amiright!?

Sounds like a big waste of money but it all depends on your expectations. Do the install first before looking to mod a problem that may not exist.

I think the Harrop whines just fine. Cone filter changed the tone but didn't amplify the sound for me.

With a cone filter you'll need a custom airbox or modify an existing one. Currently Prospeed is the only off the shelf box that takes a cone filter and is compatible with the Harrop and I do not recommend it.

I'm not supercharged but I agree that its quiet and tame from the ones i've heard. I want Hellcat whine out of these :D

It’s way too quiet. Probably my only complaint.

That kit iirc is a tube from the intake into the cab and just pipes sound directly into the cab, so if that's your sort of thing then go for it. Smaller pulley will probably equal more whine, not much else.

Don’t they put out like 4psi? Just keep throwing on a smaller pulley and you’ll get there. Whine really picks up over 15.

Ironically the whine is produced by inefficiency on a roots. Twin screw blowers always whine pretty loud though.

You went with the harrop? Then its a problem in my opinion. I think im going to try the mod. I can always plug the hole if its too loud.

Yes, still on the 85mm pulley right now. That dumb mod will increase the noise factor, I doubt it will get anywhere close to being too loud.

I would recommend the whine mod. It makes the supercharger loud at high rpms and high speeds(wide open throttle). Although I went through the wiring grommet into the back of the dash I would recommend whoever else does the mod to drill into the passenger foot firewall area instead. It’s kinda quiet at low speeds low rpms. 8C0D6387-E230-41A6-BE9D-35A99500FEFE.jpg

Having a Hellcat with a bigger intake, my Tundra sounds like a hybrid in comparison. I'm in the middle of installing the PS 4.5 intake on the Tundra, I hope that gives it some more sound.

I have the Harrop with smaller pulley, and everything else, and can confirm... I hear no whine at all from my SC. Before I had headers it was very very faint.... Once putting the headers on, that was the end of that.

The whine of unsuspecting 3rd genners will have to suffice.

Lol, it's fine. Just was surprised when first getting my truck back. My Tacoma supercharger whined louder than my girlfriend when she's hungry.

The Magnuson with a 2.0 pulley and quiet exhaust is definitely audible from the outside when on it, and pretty noticeable on the inside even at idle though I'm also listening for it. I doubt it's anywhere near Hellcat levels though.

So this doesn’t actually make the SC louder but rather just routing more sound into the cab? Anyone try to do this with parts from the hardware store? I feel like 175 is steep for just a tube from the intake to the cab.
