Tint and wheels. Decked box in the bed. S and B Cold Air filters under the hood. Shiftpower throttle response controller.
Anybody know about it or firm date on release.

I caught a short article on my phone yesterday.

It said the truck may come out for the 26 model year. I don't think that will happen since the word is mum. They would be trying to build interest. Maybe in 2027 model year.

    Is it a diesel?

Is it a 3/4 ton or a 1 ton dually? The concept HD I see is a dually.

They went Tacoma+ with the new Tundra to upsell Tacoma owners since they’ll never outsell the big three. They’re not going to also compete with the HD market ha.

The internet is so fake. I'd say 70% of it is bots now, heading quickly to 99% until "dead internet" theory is proven true. If it isn't on a small forum like this, backed up by multiple sources and posted by someone with a high like count, I almost believe nothing anymore.

This is 100% not going to happen, I would bet my life on it. There has been these dumb rumors for years. Why would Toyota do that? What do they have to gain besides billions in losses from development and tooling for plants.

It was asked to PE executive in a meeting about a diesel and we were told a flat no, not going to happen.

Honestly we are lucky they bother with the Tundra at all, be happy there is something reliable and cool to move up from Tacoma. if you need a little more payload add air bags to the rear. Toyota is not going to bring a Diesel nor an HD to the US market. They have to chase efficiency in turbo gas and hybrids to comply with our CAFE and Emissions standards. Lexus gets the V6tt in the GX while we get the 4cylinder turbo hybrid in 4Runner and Land Cruiser due to those reasons. They could have given us the V6tt in Land Cruiser as it's low production but chose not to as it reduces cost and streamlines powertrain parts chain. Lexus has a different mission and if you want the best current SUV either Sequoia or GX550 and be prepared to pay up. IMHO the higher trim Tundras are the value proposition right now. I bought my Gold Certified 2024 1794 LE for $12k under original sticker with 4000 miles. True SUT, as nice as anything under $100k inside and nicer than many SUVs. plus it has a truck bed and tows like a champ!

They aren't by the book BB, but anyone with a 6000lb trailer, bed full of stuff and 4 full sized adults is over payload and folks do it every day. Air bags will just help keep it level with 900lbs of tongue weight. No add on increases payload but if your gonna be there you might as well have a close to level truck. At least you won't be blinding every car coming towards you at night with your headlights, right?

just put the hybrid GVWR on the non-hybrid and call it a payload package

lets start there before we get crazy and ask for a real HD , which is never going to happen

And aftermarket airbags for those less fortunate among us, aka, the poors.
Wait, you mean I don't have an additional 5K# capacity with airbags now? Doesn't that make my truck a 2-1/2 Ton? :D:rolleyes:

Aren’t the 2500 and up classes exempt from CAFE standards? If not, how do the domestics compete? Not one of them makes a decent Prius, Camry, Corolla, or RAV4 competitor. Toyota crushes the midsize, compact, hybrid, and crossover markets. If anyone has the CAFE points to spare on a large inefficient 1-ton, it’s Toyota.

But again I don’t think the HD segment even counts toward CAFE…

Light duty trucks with a GVWR of 8500 lbs or more do not have to follow CAFE standards.

They could’ve left the Tundra at 12mpg and just beefed it up for higher GVWR.

Never forget what they took from us
