Try driving it steady state highway cruising, or down a long grade. Give the battery a chance to charge up. I wouldn’t worry too much, the truck is not designed to operate in EV mode as a rule so a full battery probably is not needed.

If you bought a Tundra with the iForceMax hybrid power plant assuming it was focused on fuel economy you are going to be massively disappointed….

The chief engineer of Toyota trucks, Mike Sweers, wanted a diesel for high torque production for towing; Toyota corporate in Japan told him “no”. So the iForceMax was developed to supplement the 3.4L twin turbo V35A-FTS with an electric motor generator sandwiched in between the engine and transmission. The result is a very mild increase in city fuel efficiency, and very significant increase in peak torque and a useful increase in peak horsepower.

The hybrid Tundra is about power, not fuel economy. Specifically maximizing power at engine speeds commonly used when working the truck with a load in the bed or on the hitch.

583ft-lbs of peak torque at 2,400 RPM vs the regular iForce making 479ft-lbs at 2,400 RPM. The relationship between horsepower and torque being: Horsepower = Torque X engine speed (RPM) / 5252.

So your new truck is capable of cranking out a bit over 266 HP at only 2,400 RPM, which is very diesel like. Whereas the base engine is only capable of making 219 HP at the same engine speed. This assumes both are at full throttle. Unladen your new truck will be faster, loaded it will also be faster to get up to speed and more likely to hold a higher gear. Around town you’ll see a very small increase in fuel efficiency.

Enjoy your new truck, I too will choose the iForceMax when the time comes.

5k miles on my and never been full tops 1 barb from full and only after a long way down. On regular driving stays at 40-60% all the time.
Anything we know of a hybrid car won’t apply to this truck, is a completely different system. Imo they should remove the hybrid from the name it just creates confusion.

I know this is off-topic. Is anyone still seen ridiculous dealer adjustments on the MSRP on the hybrid models?

Nearly all hybrids never fill the battery. They operate around half full for the most part of longevity. It can get filled in a long downhill and it can be drained driving long distance in EV mode but the hybrid control will always try to bring the battery charge back to half full.
