I've asked this elsehwere and I cant seem to get an answer, where is the maintenance schedule located for our truck? In my wife's yaris its in the owners manual, but I read mine cover to cover (i'm one of those people) and couldnt find anything. I feel stupid for asking this as it should be obvious, but I really cant find it.

Dang just the other day I was looking for the blank pages in the back of my manual to write down all of my maintenance so far. Looks like I’ll have to see if I have that maintenance and warranty guide. Thanks Jason.

Interesting that this maintenance guide says nothing about changing transmission fluid or brake fluid (in standard operating conditions). I used to replace brake fluid every 24 months but there is no mention of ever replacing brake fluid. Is it considered lifetime?

I just read through it and you're correct I didnt see anything about changing brake fluid, however it did mention changing tranny fluid. The reason I wanted to look is because my wifes yaris has a maintenance free tranny. there is no mention of tranny fluid change in the manual, so I called toyota and was told that its good for the life of the vehicle. we have 220k km on it and its clean and full still, heres hoping it does last :)

Transmission fluid change at 60,000 miles due to: "Driving while towing, using a car-top carrier, or heavy vehicle loading". I can see the need for that but I rarely tow and almost always have no load so I should be good for life.

The trans service is a "do it when something is wrong" type of service. Toyota takes the stance that if upon inspection there are no observed issues, a service is not required. We'll have to see how that holds up with the dedicated trans cooler absent on my 2019.

Can't hurt to do the break flush yearly, and its super easy to do on your own. The last thing you want is for the break fluid to absorb too much moisture from the atmosphere which will lead to corrosion in your system.

peronally I used to changed every 100k km (~60k Miles) just because it made me feel good, then I switched to changing when it needed it. Ive never had to rebuild or replace a transmission, fwiw.

I'll probably continue this program on this truck, however I will change the other fluids regularly (diff, transfercase, coolant, oil brakes)

Does your 2019 have the 4.10 gears? I didnt know there actually were non-tow package tundys out there in the wild!

My wifes corolla is the same way. No transmission service recommended. I had the fluid changed at 125k anyway, because we're planning to keep it a long time. Getting the toyota dealer to do it was like pulling teeth though.

I called toyota and asked what they consider "Lifetime" of the vehicle.
    100k.

Guys on this post might consider doing the same. Call toyota and ask.
And you will never hurt anything by updating the fluid on a consistent schedule.
You could however if you wait until something is high mileage and change it then.

I’m assuming there is a drain? I’ve heard some “maintenance free” trannys dont...if not I am getting a pela pimp for my sailboat’s diesel so I’ll be able to pull it out the dip stick hole and maybe I will change it at 250k km

No, the drain plug just drains the pan, won't drain the whole system. and no dipstick. They made it hard.
but i'd use caution at 240K. You're at the point it might be harmful.

There is a drain plug on the transmission pan. The term “sealed” is arbitrary.

there's a ton of information this on this forum
    But I'll bite.
you can drain through the plug the pan's volume worth of fluid (this only 1/4 the system fluid)
you need to drain/fill the system through the heat exchanger (before 2019/2020). I don't have a good way on the 2019/2020 to get the fluid replaced at once.

or you could drain that 1/4, refill that quarter (plug in side of transmission and hand pump) and repeat a few times (5 times to get the fluid replaced, but you'd have to drive in between as you'd have to cycle the fluid.

try a search. much better information out there for this.

My moms 2015 Yaris had a normal drain pan/ plug, and dip stick.
Owners manual had all the info.

The owners manual has zero info. I had to call Toyota to find out that I’m not supposed to do anything with it. Good to know there is a drain on it though. I guess I could just drain the pan, too it up and drive a bit and do it again. Not particularly efficient of my time and never really gets everything changed over...

    I understand.
It was at 75K so I got a transmission filter with gasket and fluid from oriellys. Since it’s not used hard like our tundras I am okay with longer intervals. That car is nearly totaled anyway. Mom doesn’t know how to keep anything nice.
She’s a hoarder and it looks like she lives out of the car.

To my wife her car is just a thing to drive to work. She has no connection to it. I got her a detailing gift certificate for the spring to spruce the car up. I take care of maintenance so everything works well, but it’s gross inside lol

I’m considering draining the pan and refilling it to send some off to be tested. Toyota won’t void my warranty right?
