I have a 2001 Toyota tundra with light gray seats and trying to find driver side seat bottom if anyone has one or does anybody know where I can buy new material or if anybody has a backseat, that’s not worth much, I can buy a section of the fabric from it to have my seat fixed everywhere I looked on the Internet so far I’m striking out

I regularly see parts trucks on FB Marketplace with grey seats for sale. Some guy on here who bought a truck from SC with rotten leather interior got a full set of Double Cab seats (rears wouldn’t fit yours, but…) for $200, all four.

Not knowing whereabouts you are makes it hard to hunt for access cab seat examples on your behalf. You may even be able to swap for power seats, dunno.

Looks like you can maybe get one from Toyota although it'd be a few hundred even from a discount parts dealer. Looks like there's a couple shades of grey, dealer should know yours based on VIN. As others have said, FB marketplace/Craigslist/junkyard are probably the cheapest route, bottom and back are separate covers. I'm in the process of adding heated seats and wasn't happy with how I got my my first cover back on, took the cover off again (pretty easy to do) and took the seats to an auto upholstery shop. They charged $80 a seat to put the bottom and back cover back on to give an idea of labor. I'd figure if you bring the seat to an upholsterer with the bottom cover off (you'd have practice from taking one off a donor truck) and the donor/replacement cover, they'd maybe charge $50 to put it on. I got fed up with the hog rings and velcro and had it bunching/wrinkled in a couple spots whereas the upholsterer made it look better than when I took them off.

If you’re looking to go real cheap, buy iron-on patches, remove that seat cover and iron them on, then replace.
Agreed on looking at junkyard trucks though.

I'm also looking to repair my drivers seat thats in the same condition. Really wondering if the foam and seat cover is the same for the passenger side bucket seats? The wrecker yard Tundras all have a bagged DS seat but the PS is usually pristine. Could be the easiest and cheapest option.

An upholstery shop can repair the foam and fix the cover. I switched seat bases. My passenger side wasn't used much, and the foam/upholstery were still in very good shape. The seat base is bolted to rail and the seat back is bolted to the base. The only issue is the adjustment knob hole, but once switched the hole is facing the inner console and can not be seen. I went the extra step and had a local upholstery shop repair the foam cushion and fix a seam on the drivers base that I had moved to the passenger side, so now both seats look good.

Funny that you mention this. I did some form of exactly this on a couple of my 4runners over the years. Including ones I bought to resell. Smart trick!

I did it in my 3rd gen 4r a few years ago, then recently pulled the upholstery off both bases and backs and ran them through the washer, twice. The wash water looked like coffee when they were being washed. Came out looking like new and bought new aftermarket base foam. Seats now look and feel new.

Glad to hear this will actually work. There’s a few FGT’s in nearby wrecker yards with pristine passenger seats.
