Hello, my 2017 Tundra Platinum recently started making a screeching sound when turning left or right, no matter the direction. Power steering fluid is full and there is no leaks at all. Tires were bought 7 months ago and alignment was done as well. Checked for rubbing and found nothing. Could it be bad wheel bearings or bad ball joints? Any suggestions would help.
Here is a clip to the sound.

Sounds like a camber issue, might just be the tires though. Some tires are noisy like that when turning tight. Also, they can be fine when new but start to do that as they wear. Could be an inflation issue

Your tires are squealing/scrubbing on pavement. time to take it in for alignment.

Truck is lifted 4.5 inches with factory alignment specs. Do you guys recommend adding +.1 to camber to fix the scrubbing issue?

once lifted, factory specs may not be best for drivability. Suggest you take to to a shop that specialized in alignments, not just a typical repair shop, not the dealer, not AAA, etc. Many shops do minimal work for alignments, toe and go basically. You need a shop that has experience with alignments and knows what they are doing. You can address all kinds of issues and even body mount rubbing with larger tires with a GURU alignment!

Not normal for tires to be scrubbing or screeching when turning. They have not screeched until recently. Will do alignment to see if it fixes issue

Keep us updated. I have no lift and stock size tires and mine recently started doing the same at full drivers lock.

    Details are your friend hear.

    what lift are you running?
    • Helps to recommend some alignment figures.
    Any new additions/removal from truck?
    • Changes in weight depending on delta, can influence ride height which alters suspension geometry. Ie adding 300 lbs in front of axle would through alignment figures off.
Size of tire and wheel spec?
    • helps narrow down what we’re working with.
You’ve mentioned age of tire since you’ve purchased but didn’t mention mileage, date code or uneven tread wear patterns ?
    • As tires age the compound tends to harden and the is reduced grip available as a result, this could also be influenced by exterior temperatures, coefficient of friction between road surface and tire, heat cycling of tires , tire pressure, ideal tread wear ,uneven wear also reduces available grip as contact has changed.
    • Unusual tread wear also will help us point to any potential worn components.
    • Tread wear itself changes the mass of the tire and changes the acoustical harmonics.
    • Garage kept. Think uv exposure.
    Your driving habits:
    • help us look into potential causes for mis alignment and or damaged components.
    • Any other unusual driving characteristics other than the noise when performing a tight turn into a parking spot?
    • Are there a variety of surfaces that you can reproduce the sound on?
    • Recall hitting anything lately?
Having the above will help go a long way in narrowing down your complaint and a potential resolution. Otherwise the responses you will receive are speculative at best….

I'm running a BDS 4.5 in lift with vertex coilovers. Tire size is 305/55R20 and running 20x9+ 20 offset fuel wheels. In those 7 months, I have put 10,000 miles on them and they were bought brand new all 4. I just use my truck to go to work and come back and to go do errands, it is a daily driver, rarely and off roader. Honestly I don't swap tires at 5,000 so unsure about uneven tire wear but they look very good still and I am running the BFGoodRich KO2s. The screeching sounds can be heard 100% on sticky roads or solid roads such as drive thrus or doing u turns. I dont have a garage so the truck stays outside parked. Tie rods are in good shape. Hope this info helps. Most likely alignment is off and will need to align with the lifted truck's specs which I will give the tech the numbers
