Morning everyone! Ok I may have to head to some snow plow forums but thought I'd ask here too. Does anyone use there tundra for plowing? Right now we have a boss 7ft 6in super duty on a big ram 2500 and it's a dream to plow....but the damn thing keeps breaking down, it's a 2017 and just keeps having problems that are not related to the plow. We have all new king suspension and it's setup exactly how it should be. Plows like butter but it's just to many trips to the stealer ship and we want to change it all up.
I guess the question is there anyone here who has a monster plow on there tundra? This thing is a beast and it's what the county uses on there big rigs....
Would love to hear how well it hasn't worked out for u.

I had an 8’ fisher hd2 on my 2019 DC limited. It had bilstein 6112’s set at 1.9” and timbrens. The rear had 5160’s. When I traded my 16 2500hd I kept the plow. Tundra took it with no issues.

Comin' from S TX I don't know squat about these things. Is there a control box in the cab that can aim the blade left or right? Or do you get out, pull a pin, move the blade, then lock it back in position?

Some really cheap models are manual, but most are electric over hydraulic with a remote control in the cab.

The Boss brand on one of the Kubotas at work cost 6500.00. It's pretty sweet and has a lot of adjustability.

Seems to me that a tractor would be the answer. Just so many other needs, mainly mowing, and maybe fairly frequent driveway grading.

Theres two 2.5 gen tundras running around locally with plows but they’re the comically small fisher price ones.

Off topic but that dog has a serious case of the zoomies

I think plows are hard on automatic transmissions. My ranch’s Boss plow is attached to a 1973 Ford F100 with a 4 speed transmission 3/4 ton 4x4 & we’ve had no issues. I like the joy stick control. I have no desire to set up my Tundra to plow snow but I know this topic has been discussed before on this forum.

Google “fisher fishstik”. You could also mount and dismount the whole setup in about three minutes. If you zoom in under the front bumper you can see the mounts.

Correct. Even moving a plow you have to a new truck can cost you like $2k if you need new wiring and a mount.

lots of tundras with plows up here in New England. I run a 7'6" Fisher HT for my 600' driveway (uphill to the road) and have absolutely zero issues plowing or how the truck handles it. I've read a bunch of guys running the 8' HD like the guy up there posted too, but it's a LOT heavier than the HT. If you're plowing for work/business a tundra isn't the best option, but for personal use it's completely great IMO. The tractor is helpful to move snow piles etc. but you don't want to plow a long drive with one.
