Check the grounding cable and maybe fuse that popped. Have you added anything electrical recently?

Did you have the battery load tested? How old is it? When you say no power, nothing comes on when you turn the key? No radio Dash lights etc.?

Our trucks like a nice full battery and all the cells in good working order. Lots of cranking amps. Check all the fuses, under the hood and by your left knee in the truck. Make sure it’s grounded well, not just at the battery but any other body grounds as well.

Does your vehicle have any sort of active/passive anti-theft device inline with starter signal from ignition key cylinder?

And if all those suggestions don't pan out... look for signs of critters.. ie... mice/squirrels they may have taken a liking to some of your wires... good luck..

We have a 2002 Avalon that does this sometimes. I think it is a short in the shifter that will not let you start the vehicle when it is in gear. I jiggle the shifter and usually it will then start.

I have had issues like this before but it was another brand truck... it also may be something to look into and maybe some advice for others...
I used to raise and lower the tilt steering option everytime i got in and out of truck... ended up fraying the wire harness and in turn my cruise and lights would flicker... just a thought...

Things like that are the reason I am the way I am today LOL. I try not to unnecessarily move or adjust things that don’t need adjusting. My last vehicle, the mirrors would point down to the ground every time I put it in reverse. I turned that feature off real quick. Being that it was a Chevy, I could just see the dollar signs when those motors decided to fail.

I'm still troubleshooting with the Toyota Tundra. I checked all the fuses visually but haven't checked the relays.

First, the truck had no power with ignition key.
Then when it did turn on, the A/C malfunctioned and only blew warm air but when I revved up the engine, it blew cold air. Then the engine gave my "FIXD"engine reader Chip an error code of P0308 (8th cylinder misfire) , then it went away and no more codes. Now it has a low idle speed when I first turn on my truck.

I'm looking for a good mechanic that specializes in electrical in the area of Rancho Cucamonga California. Any one know of a mechanic that may be able to assist me with this issue? I strongly suspect it's a short or relay issue.

OP did you ever find a fix to this? I'm having a similar issue. Intermittently it won't start, no power anywhere, remote lock/unlock won't even work. I'm wondering what caused your problem.

If you have remote start it sometimes interferes with the toyota security. To correct hit the lock and unlock a few times to reset it instead of disconnected battery terminal. Learnt that from a toyota technician.
