And here I thought the renters next door to me who smoke weed and don't shovel were bad.

Nope, no full throttle. If an emergency situation came up, I'd stab it to the floorboard, but only in an emergency. I bought a new car in 1974. I broke it in gently and at 100,000 miles (very high mileage for a car in those days) it ran like a top and didn't use or leak a drop of oil. My friends all told me to "Drive it like you stole it to break it in." and "If you don't break it in fast it'll never run fast." I tried to explain that I didn't buy it to drive fast, I bought it to run a long time. Their cars smoked, rattled, and were ready for an overhaul while mine was still tooling along nicely.

Mine must be extra bad. They do that too. The only house in the damn neighborhood and it’s next to mine. At least they didn’t make too much noise till last night.

I feel like I’m 60 years old when it comes to neighbors. Keep it down, take care of your shit, and stay off my damn lawn! :D

I don't get the "eww david" part.... I don't watch the show. I just searched for a gif that said what I wanted. :notsure:

As for not breaking, I hope the same!

How about you? Big weekend plans?

Yeah, it's on the show. Shitts Creek, it's pretty damn funny.

Working, day shift. It should be pretty quiet, hopefully we just keep pumping out that good PNW power.

Calm down, Mr. "I fly all over and get paid". Some of us buy our own sushi without the company picking up the tab. :p

Props to you, man. I can't do a salary job. I wind up living at work and not getting paid enough.

You’d think that… but you figure out how to get over that pretty quick. I struggled a little early on but figured out how to turn the work phone/computer off at the end of the day.

I've done it, and I always wind up working more than I'm paid for. I would need a carved in stone agreement that only X hours per week were expected, and anything over would have to be additionally compensated. I don't do salary.

:) I need to book some more flights actually
It’s got it’s perks though too. I pretty much make my own schedule, work 95% from home, run my regions as I see fit, support my teams, company meals when it’s business related, collect travel points, and am well appreciated for.
funnt, my old employer sent me a text on Saturday asking me to come back. I politely declined and let them know how poorly my teams and I were treated and I’ll never give them a second opportunity for being treated with little care and disposable. I promptly sent that to my VP with a follow up of how appreciative I am of them. He, in turn of course was very sincere how of I am asset to them. Lol, he about called one of our subs a few weeks ago as they called offering me to come work for them; obviously I declined and didn’t entertain it. This is truly the first
employer I have had where I have no complaints

I got 3 rolls. Rest is for the fam. Still $130. We are officially on a sushi diet.

A proper salary is adjusted to account for OT. Plus other benefits open up to help offset the extra time.

Plus some of us are salary and get OT

My boss from two jobs ago tried telling me that 45 hours a week was expected. Um. Read my f*cking offer letter. You can have my 40. If shit breaks, I’m all hands on deck and will put in the hours. But you get me 8-5 for normal conditions.

Needless to say, I didn’t stay there much longer.

I've been salaried since 1993, no OT. But benefits more than make up for it. I've had stock options and been in a 30% bonus program since 2000. Makes up for the loss of OT by far, just not on a weekly basis. And twice I've had to step down and work 60 hour weeks on site, had a good boss that authorized straight time OT. One was in Japan where per diem was $125 per day tax free. I guess it's all in who you work for and what you make of it.

We are still structuring a bonus plan for our managers; sadly I won’t be a recipient of it- but my employees will so it’ll keep driving their will to keep pushing.

I don't understand why the octogenarians who own the place next to us don't just sell it. The real estate market is as stupid hot here as it is everywhere else and they can't be enjoying the amount of work required to take care of it.
