I am looking at the TYC LED w/ smoked chrome accent from Rock Auto at $397 for the pair. This is a LOT cheaper than the TRD pros from Sparks. Anyone have any experience with these or the brand. In doing a search a lot of people suspect that TYC is OEM or OEM re-branded.

TYC has different levels of quality. I tried a pair of tyc fog lights from Orielly's for my Tahoe. They were horse$hit brand #2. Cheaper plastic, didn't fit well, etc. That's my only experience so take it for what its worth.

I wouldn’t think it’s anything in relation to OEM

I’ve used tyc headlight assemblies before to replace worn stock halogen housings on a past vehicle. They fit perfect, looked oem. They weren’t LED and I don’t know how long the lenses stayed nice and clear. I traded the car a few months after I installed them. Good price, “limited-lifetime warranty” sounds nice also.

If you seal them yourself with butyl where the lens marries to the housing, you should be good. I did this as a facelift upgrade on my 4th gen 4runner...first thing I did was seal them up and they've been solid for 5 years with no issues. They do not "fit" into the OEM connection points as perfect as OEM but they were not as bad as some...again though, manufacturing years ago to nowa' days is less so it's a risk, but one can make them nearly as good.

I have those very lights on my 2020 TSS Crew Max, but have only been on for about 3 months. I bought the wiring harness from headlight revolution and the only problem I initially had was balancing the headlights back to straight after installation (due to the motorized up/ down feature of the lights). Once I figured out you can easily manually adjust them with a phillips screwdriver, it was a breeze. They look great and exactly like the TRD Pro lights. Only time will tell regarding the durability and quality but I couldn't bring myself to pay an arm and a leg for OEM TRD Pro lights.....

I felt the opposite about the price of the OEM PRO's. I thought they were a steal considering the Tacoma Pro LED's are over double the price of Tundra versions.

update: I do feel from having both, the output and pattern is not as good as the Tacoma version. Also, function, the Tacoma drl / reverse sequential and side marker are all LED with great output.

    Then you would be incorrect.
TYC makes the vast majority of OEM headlights and as close as these are to OEMs on my two buddy’s trucks it’s a good bet TYC makes them for Toyota. They have been around a long time and make a good product.
I have had the TYCs in for about a year. They fit just fine and the light output is identical to my buddy’s 2019.
I used iHacker’s harness and have Diode Dynamic yellow fogs and visibility is outstanding.

    Ok

I wasn’t stating a fact. It was an opinion left open to be correct or incorrect. I was neither wrong or right. So your statement is invalid ~ to the incorrect portion

    good little info nugget though

Very happy with them for sure.....brighter than halogen, high beams great, just the color of the beams is so pleasing. IMO for the price compared to the official TRD Pro Headlights they are a great value.....$378 vs 590.....I also switched out the stock halogen fog lights for led (also from Rock Auto) they are outstanding also and the beam color matches the headlights...
