Added the extra leaf to my icons and right as I was going to start putting the u-bolts back on the rains came. I grabbed the plates and bolts and put them in my garage. When I came out this morning I realized, having done this before, I never looked at how the plates were oriented and just always laid them flat on the ground in the correct orientation. Obviously there is a slight angle to the plate, just wasn’t sure which way the angle went. This is my drivers side. I think it goes on just like this. It doesnt feel quite right the other way but was wondering others thoughts?

Installed looks to have more overhang towards the back.

I had the same question when I replaced my leaf last week, after inspecting, I believe it doesn't matter which way you put it, that angle is going to stay the same for each side. Try turning it 180 and the notch still faces the same way, however, there is a difference between left and right plates.

If you lay under your truck at the rear looking towards the front you will see the angle of the leafs and they are not parallel with the frame.

When you see that angle you will see your answer grasshopper :notsure:

Ok, I tried laying down like I said and it is not that obvious. When it is up on a rack it is. I may have a pic somewhere...

You can see how the frame is EDIT: Wider in the front that the rear the way it curves. Not the best image but if you zoom in you can see where the front shackle is relative to the rear shackle

I believe it is the opposite, wider in the rear. I did not do this but measure shackle to shackle, front to front and rear to rear

I am 90% sure its wider in the middle and narrower in the rear and front.

    NICE PIC!

No wonder you have problems getting a 35" tire under there. Problem solved!
