"Unable to update the software" Keeps popping up?!

Randomly today I keep getting a orange drop down notification at the top of the 14" screen, "Unable to update the software"....Please try again later. Error Code 101.....

So I got to the update software screen and there is no update available, so at this point I'm at a loss.....Anyone else have this happen to them?!

 

yes, it started this morning. just as you said. popped up about three times, but then did not come back. drove truck about 30 more minutes but never came back. don't know why

Mine did it, too. I figured it finally connected and updated when I came home for lunch (wifi). I couldn’t find any evidence of an update, though.

 

Mine did the same a few weeks ago and kept doing it for a couple of days. Did a reset of the head unit and it went away. Hasn’t been back since.

 

The message showed up 4 times within 2 minutes yesterday and hasn't reappeared.

 

I have an aftermarket JVC/Kenwood head unit. CarPlay stopped working and I couldn’t get it to reset. Unhooked the truck battery for a few minutes and now it works fine again. I forced a reset.

 

This is what I did. I opened the Toyota app and went to the health section and made it do a health report. The update thing went away after that.

 

Thank you all for your replies: My issue went away on its own after a few drive cycles....but after a year of ownership, this was the first time I'd seen this happen before......WIERD!

 

I’m having the same problem. When you click to show your model info in settings, does it say your “Version” is 2170, or something different? I’m wondering if your system updated to the newest version (2170) or just stopped showing the error.

 

Every 30 seconds... driving me crazy. I tried resetting the screen/head unit. Won't stop. Car menu says no update available.

Why does Toyota have these error messages set to repeat every 30 seconds. I saw it the first 50 times it did it. Very distracting and not safe. I just want it to go away.

 

I also started getting the error today.

Super annoying every 30 seconds, dealership was zero help. Big disappointment after only having a new truck for two months

 

Now mine says update available. 2170.

Waiting to see if there are issues.

 

Was getting the message yesterday pretty frequently. Was running out this morning and got a message saying an update was available and did I want to load it. Only running to the store down the street so I canceled it. Haven't seen it since.

 

Error code 101 Cannot load update blinking at the top of nav screen. Super annoying, almost an hazard. Once back to network, this error code is not anymore shown and I checked, there is no update available. Hi all! we are still beta testing.
