I picked up one of Cabela's single gun storage boxes for about half price, they are usually $19.99. It comes with a cable which I wrapped around the horizontal mounting arm on my driver's side seat. The box fits under the seat quite well and has a combination lock on it. Just figured I would let y'all know in case y'all were looking for options other than the counsel safe. I posted pictures of its location as well as my EDC so that y'all can get an idea of how big it is. That's a Glock 19-sized firearm.

    Nice idea!
My fist gen tundra had this notched out area on the lower side of the dash just above the drivers knee where I mounted a magnetic pistol mount that would hold a small 9mm very nicely. I haven't worked out yet where to do the same kinda thing in my new 3rd gen. I conceal carry most of the time and it's nice to have a fast and convenient spot to place it when driving. IWB carry while sitting always sucks!

I primarily carry AIWB even while driving, and have done so for years. I have found that a quality holster from a custom maker is the essential element for carrying it like this. However, on the long hauls, there are times when I do enjoy taking the holster off for the drive.

Huge fan of Shadow, They make some great firearms and the customer service can't be beat. I am currently saving to get a Staccato or Wilson, I haven't decided which yet and now that Springfield introduced the Prodigy I'll have to look into it at the very least. Hopefully, it's made in America unlike most of the Springer handgun lineup.

I run a lot of SA stuff, but no 1911/2011s as of yet. I tend to be middle of the road so the Prodigy seems like a good bang for the buck (no pun intended), like the Shadow Systems stuff. And Springfield has Tu Lam as their spokesmodel, so it must be good...

I've been in the business of selling the 2nd amendment for 14 years now, Springfield represents about 4% of what we send back to the MFG for repair, and most of that I believe to be attributed to owners not cleaning their newly purchased firearm before they shoot it. There's honestly nothing wrong with Springfield firearms. My problems with them is they aren't actually made by Springfield, for the polymer handguns at least, they are made by H.S. Produkt out of Croatia for Springfield. Secondly and truly more importantly on everything except their XDS line up when I draw and point, the front sight never aligns with the rear sight for me right away, I have to adjust the slide orientation up to be able to see the front sight. This of course has to do with the grip angle, and not a fault with the gun or myself, as every other MFG points naturally for me. The only one I have a legit problem with is the Hellcat, I teach several classes a year for ladies and we used to have 4 Hellcats sitting on the table for them to try out, all 4 of those the slide take down lever has shattered under use and in one case the slide damn near fell off the front of the gun. We have sold a SHIT ton of Hellcats and not one has come back, yet, however I just don't have confidence in the platform to ever want to own one, same with Kimber lol.

As far as spokesmodel go, I think I detect an air of sarcasm, but ever since HS Precision had Lon Horiuchi as their spokesmodel after Ruby Ridge I don't put a lot of faith in to spokesmodels in general.

I had the same experience, except in reverse. The XD (and XDMs) pointed for me. Out of the box the Shadow with a RDS also pointed well even though it is Glockish (if that is a word...) - I didn't have as much of the RDS wiggle that I have with other pistols.

Not so much sarcasm, but just an observation that there needs to be a realization that someone like Tu Lam has put more rounds down range in both practice and business that most of us will ever shoot in a lifetime. Consequently there is a different level of adaptability when it comes to things that go "bang".
