Hey guys just bought a 2013 tundra and love it but the previous owner lowered it, with what looks like a flip kit shackles and coils in the front. I’ve figured out what I need to get the front back to normal but I’m having a hard time finding what I need for the rear any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like all they did was put the leaf springs under the axle instead of on top but I’m no expert

I’ve never understood why people lower a truck. Special kind of stupid I guess.

ahh see I don’t even know the terminology for lowering trucks. So why can’t you just get new u-bolts and shackles and put it back to how it comes stock? Maybe a dumb question, I don’t know a thing about lowering trucks lol

I’ve never understood people that raise the front of the truck and keep the rear down. AKA Carolina Squat

There are many benefits accrued by lowering the Tundra, are you sure you want to return it to stock?

Same argument can be made for lifting a truck.

I hope you negotiated the price downward to compensate for the changes you are considering... the front coils should be stock, and you should be able to restore the front with relative ease. I would then move the rear leaf pack down to the lowest hole on the shackle, thus raising the bed - then see how it looks and rides.

exactly. id wager over half the people here with a lifted truck only use their truck on pavement/gravel/grass, and then snub their noses at lowered trucks.

not to mention... even if you do use your truck in a way that would warrant a lift... it takes a "special kind of stupid" to not even grasp the concept of how it would improve a truck for someone who doesnt go offroad.... better handling, easier access to bed, easier to get in and out of cab, less drag resulting in better gas mileage?

its not something id ever do, as i use my truck in ways that require at least a semi decent ground clearance, but im not about to be so rude as to insult others because im so close minded that i cant consider other uses for a truck than how i use it. guess its just the day and age to look down on others for doing things different from ourselves.

Well said. My crewmax is lowered and also supercharged. I lowered it for the sport truck feel. I can still haul and tow with it.

I bet there are quite a few members with stock shackles laying around. You could post a (want to buy) thread in the classifieds for that if your shackles were replaced.

New u bolts are only around $40. Not too difficult to put the leafs back on the axle.

I lowered the rear on mine, but I did not give up any ground clearance.
The truck does truck things, and it rides & handles great. Win, Win.

You would need the Cradle and standard bump stop... these installation instructions may help you figure out what else is involved.

It looks like the SOS "rear level kit" which also utilizes different mounting hardware for that TRD sway bar. Id be happy to purchase the sway bar mounts from you should you decide to sell. If I had all my old hardware I would have passed it all over, its long gone in the trash.

Raising/Lowering all depends on your goal, I have done both with my prior Tundra's and each have their place. Right now im riding the level wave and not really "Lowered" like some trucks I see...

    Mine currently sits leveled:

I like to get over speedbumps unlike other "lowered" trucks

Ditto on riding the level wave... I lowered the bed 3.25" and left the front bone stock.

    The truck sits level.

Well, I'm betting your aren't within easy distance of Vancouver Canada are you? I go away for work soon too, gone for 4 weeks.
I've got a 2WD RCLB and would like to lower the back. But I'd be willing to just do a parts swap if it wasn't for how far apart we are.
But time and logistics make it tough.
I used to wonder why people do a lot of things, like you. But the fun is in the differences.

Sure. I’d like that as I’m not in a rush. Mine is an ‘07 so you’d probably want original parts closer to your own build date as opposed to getting mine anyways. But send me a message when you start it all and we can see what kind of plan can be made.

Supercharged and lowered for performance is the only logical explanation! I can get behind that combo!

20230519_175207.jpg I'll swap parts with you. I have 07RCSB 2WD I'm wanting to lower. I also have an 07DCSB 4WD that I leveled the front to match the rear.
