Use Google maps. Seriously. I haven't used a native navigation system in a very long time. They all suck IMO.

When I first got my 2018 Tacoma I tried using the factory nav one morning going to work, a drive I’ve been making for almost 25 years now.

They factory nav wanted to take me about 7 miles out of the way. It behaved as if some of the roads I take every day don’t exist. Granted, a couple of them are little more than goat paths through the woods, but they are public roads, and every other navigation software recognizes them.

Even when I tried to force it by ignoring the directions and going the way I go every day, the factory navigation refused to route me that way, instead forcefully telling me to turn around.

IMG_4087.jpg You'll need to upgrade the head unit to get what you want.

Pioneer is what I went with.

    I use Waze.
