I have a stock 2001 Tundra that still has the stock radio it does not show a JBL tag. I want to install a head unit so I can use Android auto and maybe a backup camera. It having wireless connectivity would be nice. I have been looking at Amazon, best buy, watching youtube and feel its probably something I can do myself but I was hoping to get a recommendation of what unit would work best with my old turck which has been very dependable for 22 yrs. Thanks for any advice.

Figure out what features you want and how far you wanna go with your build. Then find a head unit that will meet you needs. Anything double din will fit and fill the space nicely. Be sure to get the proper wire harness adapter for your needs. If keeping the stock amp, or bypassing it, there’s different wiring options available to do that. Don’t cut any of the factory wiring!!

Read the reviews carefully. Bought a new generation version and the screen washes out in the sun. Not really happy with the screen it, but it was a good deal at the time, so not worth replacing as it has all the camera / app features.

Please do yourself a massive favor, and read the "Audio, audio upgrades and cameras..." section of this thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

It'll (1) Equip you with the basic, fundamental knowledge you need to make an informed decision w/all the correct wiring/adapters and (2) its last bullet point, after you read the important "AHA!" crap that screws most people over, will give you a link to a gallery full of head unit options for your truck.
