So, just came back from a road trip and discovered that the stock headlights are sorta crappy. ( It has less visibility then my old 95 nissan hardbody had with its xenon bulbs, and less visibility than my ford explorer work suv does) highbeams are ok, but when you turn them on they automatically turn off the running lights which creates sorta a weird field of vision (my wifes camry has after market running lights so when she turns on her brights both her foglights and running lights stay on which illuminates the road very well).

    So I have a 2 part question

    1) what aftermarket lights would work well and keep the factory headlight height adjustment knob functional?? Would simply changing the bulbs to xenon etc blubs do the trick?

    2) what would I have to do to allow the fog/running lights (small circular lights in the bumper) to remain on when the brights are turned on

Don't change the bulbs - get new housings. Most of them retain the adjustable functionality. I liked the morimoto xb lights but the oem pro led lights with the ihacker harness is also a popular choice.

For the fog light thing search "anytime fog light mod"

Morimoto XB's which are $1500 or you can go with the OEM leds which are around $650 or so.

The Morimotos are projectors and the OEM are reflectors.

I have profile retro fits and led bulbs in my fogs. I rarely use high beams with the combination of led fogs and Profile LEDs. Like the previous poster stated don't just upgrade the bulbs. I realized within days of buying my truck that the stock headlights had to go.

Projectors will have a more controlled light pattern and cutoff line. A reflector is basically like a curved bowl that the light would reflect off of. The first pic is a projector. The other is a reflector.

    2018+ LED HEADLIGHTS PLUG N PLAY HARNESS FOR 2014-2020 MODELS [V 2.0] | Toyota Tundra Forum (tundras.com)

Better brighter light than halogens with a very nice pattern and perfect cut off.
    Keeps the OEM headlight leveling.
I got TRD Pro blacked-out LED headlights, I put it off for 2 years and should have done it sooner.
LED hi beams will blow you away..

I know the outer rim flashes for the oem lights but it is also sequential? I don't recall.

You can buy my LED TRD Pro fog lights to match your new Led Headlights!!!

I found that the pro led fogs give you a super nice cut off beam that illuminates a wide area about 30-40 feet of the truck, the Pro headlights then pick up right above that and illuminate further down the road. Toyota did a really good job with the headlights/fogs. If you run the fogs to a seperate switch you can power them on at any time. Maybe grab yourself a switch controller while youre at it and do all the wiring up at once?

Id have to find somewhere to run the switch where it looks clean. I was looking around the other day trying to see where a switch mounting would look good

do you have a blank spot under the radio? You could always get a switch pro or spod ($$$ i know but then you’d be set up for the long haul)

Ranch Hand Summit front and rear bumpers. Diamondback SE tonneau cover. Rigid DOT fogs. LED headlight/fog replacement bulbs. Matt Gecko hood, and bed LED's. Foot well led's, and interior LED buld replacement. (warm) Broke the front shock of the 3" spacer lift, so replaced with 6112/5160 and 1' block rear. KO 2's. Speaker replacement, added amp and (2) 10's under seat. Weathertech floor mats. Salex organizers. Ziebart undercoating. RCI front, transmission/diff, and gas tank skids received, waiting for spring install. Compustar remote starter. front/rear dash cam.
Very happy with oem pros with ihacker harness. Huge difference. I also use the rigid DOT fog lights to provide excellent nighttime visibility .

There are cheaper options. Trigger, Auxbeam, Cali Raised LED, Garmin PowerSwitch (not that much cheaper).

I have to say iHacker harness and OEM LEDs surpassed my expectations in lighting, and cosmetically they look really bitchen....glad I went this route.

I have been reading as much as I can on the forum, and im seeing a lot for 2018- current for a lot of headlight replacements. I have a 2017 original headlamps. I would love to upgrade to something that would help me see better and if possible enhance the look of my truck. Thank you !

I have a 2014 that had stock halogens and upgraded to 2018 LED TRD PRO (blacked out) headlights.
You'll just need an @iHacker harness.

The TRD Pro would look awesome on your black truck.

One of my best mods and investments.
The LED light is much better with a better cut-off.
The hi-beams will blow you away...

You can get replacements for yours. There are the Toyota OEM leds, the more expensive
Morimoto XB leds, etc. The Toyota leds are around $650 or so for the pair. You will need a conversion harness.. Here is a thread to look through.....

Nope.....it's definitely the headlights. The halogens have always been terrible on these trucks.

The output is the same. The Pro gives the option of the black interior housing I believe. Others that have them will clarify the difference.

This is accurate. TRD sport, TRD off road limited, platinum give you a chrome interior housing.
