Does anyone have the UpTop Overland roof rack and/or bed rack installed on Gen 3 Tundra?

Would like feedback on fitment, durability, quality, installation process etc................

Good to know how well it fits the Gen 3 Tundra, but any vehicle experience with this OEM vendor would be appreciated.

I had one and it was very stout. Lots of spots for accessories. Had a heavy clamshell tent from bush co (ax27) and lots of gear. Fit within their dynamic load and worked well off-road. No issues. Overall I enjoyed it and the top rack.

Thank You ABOR................hoping all responses will be similar. UpTOP appear to have great quality and reputation, but this is my first Toyota so not sure about the Aftermarket for the Tundras yet.

I should point out that we have the sunroofs on our limited and the Alpha will prevent use of them. We are very happy with the bed rack and it does make everything else work for carrying stuff.

I have an SR5 so no worries there. I guess an upside of the lower trim level.

    That looks very familiar ;)

Is there a roof rack part or does the top of the bed rack slide over the sunroofs?

How do you like that tent? Looks like it could be quite roomy.

The Alpha EX just sits on top of the Truss AFS bed rack. This AX27 from Bush co was awesome. We have a truck topper now. Just need more inclosed and safe space.

That tent is about as large as they get and we didn’t have much overhang that caused issues. From the pic I don’t think I had any overhang with 6.5 foot bed. Nothing went into the sunroof area.

The Bravo rack is their front rack. I didn’t have that.

My main concern with a roof rack is drilling into the cab. Would be great if there was a no drill mounting option. I'm not keen on dry rotted rubber gaskets or failed silicone caulking down the road a few years after install.

Yeah from the YT videos I could find…….UpTop racks look like they are pretty good quality. Definitely leaning toward UpTop racks.

In the looks department I like:

    1). UpTop
    2). XTrusion
    3). CBI

I have a rack on my 3rd Gen and have had it for over 2 years. Super stable, no issues at all.

I do not have a rack on my 3rd Gen but I had an UpTop Overland Bravo rack on my 2nd Gen Taco. If I was going to get a roof rack for my '23 I would get another Bravo in a heart beat. The side rails are the only difference and I saw no need in the Alpha side rails. As far as build quality goes, they are way better than the prinsu racks. The only rack I think may be a slight bit better is the Gobi racks. Of course this is all my opinion and YMMV.

The tent blocks the camera and the third brake light. I am considering an additional middle brake light in the hitch like the DD offering.

You can see in the pics that the rack doesn't obscure the sight lines too much. Keep in mind that my DB cover raises the mid height rack up a few inches. I am sure that a full height rack wouldn't cause any issues with visibility.IMG_1247.jpg IMG_1245.jpg IMG_1248.jpg IMG_1250.jpg

The DB cover doesn't open with the tent on. But the cover sections will open with the rack attached. The rack has a front and a back section that are not connected to each other. This might be different to the racks that are attached to the bed rail as they would be basically one unit.

The racks attaches to the DB cleats mounts in 8 locations (4 for each section).

If I want to get into the truck bed, I can still open the tailgate to access more stuff.

I had a choice to get the taller racks but went with the mid height so I could tuck the tent in there.

Mileage seems about the same and the tent sits flush with the roof so not too much wind resistance. The truck doesn't get out much unless it's pulling the trailer or heading to a job site full of tools and materials so not too much history to track MPG's.

I am sure that the bike racks will provide more wind resistance than the tent.

I have had the UpTop Overland Alpha rack on my 2022 SR5 TRD Offroad and now on my 2022 TRD Pro.

    Pros:
Excellent build quality - no rusting or chipping after 3 years
The side handles are the best in the game and probably my favorite feature
Easy install of ROAM adventure box
Great cut-outs for the amber/white light bar
aesthetics - to me, it's much more attractive/rugged than the Prinsu and other racks. get random compliments all the time

    Cons:
I wasn't comfortable riveting to the roof so I paid a Toyota customs firm in NC to do it
Renders the sunroof unusable but still fine as a moonroof

I park outside and the silicon surrounding the rivets is still good as new. Overall, highly recommend

Harry - I see you are in Raleigh. I used TEQ Customs https://teqcustoms.com/ over on Atlantic Avenue for installing both of my UpTop racks. Hunter Gill is the owner and will treat you right.
