Currently contemplating used RW wheels or new Method 701s or 704s in bronze. Like to hear thoughts & opinions. If I go RW I would end up using 1.25" spacers. Thanks.

Can you find or have some RW's wheels available? If not, they can be hard to find and expensive when found.

There are a few sets available - used and not very cheap. Its difficult to justify but they are so damn classic. I can get Methods for about $500 cheaper- That is a chunk of change but not too bad over the long haul.

RW with spacers and 35s will rub cab mount.

I vote RW, 35s, no spacers.

I would probably vote to keep it simple (and cheaper); new wheels with desired offset.

I’ve heard using spacers and “off-roading” aren’t a good idea. Everythings riding on the spacers to stay put.
Can’t say for sure on that, just some things I’ve seen on other forums. Could just be “bro-science”.

I vote Methods but I’m biased.
    Either way good luck!

Does weight matter, RW with spacers are going to be around 26lbs the methods will be closer to 30. I think it really comes down to looks on this one though. If you want the best of both though, try the 313s they weigh about 25lbs or so.

Thanks. I have heard same with regard to spacers. Weight is a concern but not a show stopper. Those 313s are nice! Reckon the scale is leaning towards methods or maybe Icons.

My 305/70/17 Ridge Grapplers wrapped around RW.
    1.25 Spidertrax spacers.
    Bilstein 6112 @2.5 /Icon 2.0 rear.
NO BMC or UCA issues. Not even close. Im still running mud flaps all around, with heat gun trick in the front.

I like the 701s. If I could have got those for the price I got these, I would have. Money in the bank is always good.

Your set up is what started me on the RW trip- nice! You must have gott'n a smoke'n deal on those. With spacers is the offset around +18? I was originally going with 701's with 0 offset- starting to back pedal to +25 now. Im only at 1.5" in front and still need to figure out tire size with whatever offset I go with.

Nice! Cool to hear. I like the way the 34s look. These trucks swallow tires. That said, I might go down a size next time for performance reasons (shift points/less weight).

I found them on Facebook. They were pretty gross when I got them. Had to put some major elbow grease in. $500. 0 offset looks awesome but damn would that be a PITA on 1.5" up front. I'm at a good medium here. Helps protect paint a little too. Good luck!

Yea I hear you on the performance side. That is a primary objective for me to maintain close to stock shift points, low end torque, hp... Double edged blade I guess- either settle for lower and smaller or man up and regear. I will not be regearing so...Take care.

Wheel spacers with new studs are perfectly safe as long as they're installed correctly (ie. torque, Threadlocker, cross-tightening). I've ran different sets of spacers since my truck was basically new in 2014. Today, I'm running 1" spacers up front and 2" in the rear. Also note that 1" is the lowest you can go on the front and 1.25" is the lowest in the rear because the stud lengths on the OEM hubs are different lengths. Here's how my truck sits today..

Icons and Fifteen52 both make 17s that weigh in around 27lbs. I will likely go Icon due to the +25 offset

@recomr for your drop down size what are you thinking? 305/65 or 295/70? Just curious.

Have you looked the the icon 6 speeds. Very similar look to RW with a 25 offset.

Yes I like the six Speed wheels- the drawback I had was that those are not hub centric for the Tundra. The rebounds are hub centric at 110.0 mm bore.

This true, haven't researched to see if the rebounds are, though it seems you did. I haven't had any issues with the six speeds not being hub centric, there is a whole thread on here about them I looked at and didnt appear to be an issue that I saw from those who had them for extended time.

I have seen plenty Tundras here running them and have heard of not issues. Don't know what wheel to go with... 0 offset or +25 offset. I have at least decided to go with 17's!

I wanted the bronze methods nv 305 for the longest time. Because I only have bilstein 5100s in the front, I was able to fit a bigger tire with the icons with no rubbing. That's pretty much what narrowed it down for me. If you're Clearence is big enough it definitely opens up your choices on wheel selection making it much harder

What do you mean new studs? New on the spacer or on the truck?

I’ve heard stories of spacers failing in the internet, but never first hand in person or on any forum

When you removed the bead lock, was there a bunch of residue underneath? I like them better without the beadlocks but I have read it is impossible to get the crud underneath off

There was. Powder coat shop did a nice job getting them looking good. I have a feeling they also laid up more paint on those areas because they weren’t smooth when I dropped them off.
