New truck not delivered yet but important info needed. Anyone use the battery to power a very large compressor to air up. It has alligator clips and motor is not Hybrid.

Define a "very large"? I have a 5.65 CFM Smittybilt, it airs up 4 33" tires from sub-10 to 30 PSI without problems. I also run a 350 Watt 4-stage 5000 PSI airgun pump for about an hour from my 10 years old second battery before it slows down enough for me to start the engine and charge it up.

    First off...welcome to the forum.

Secondly, to answer your question: Yes. I've run my 10.6 CFM dual cylinder air compressor from my battery 3 or 4 times when airing back up. It hasn't been a problem. Should go without saying: Have you truck running at the same time. :)

Probably 90 amps with a 30 minute duty cycle. That's about the going rate for the bigger dual cylinder units, as far as I'm aware. I'm pretty sure my unit is in line with those specs. However, 30 mins is extreme. I can air up all 4 tires at once in about 8-10 mins from 15 psi to 40. I've never had to run it at the full duty cycle.

I’m not - but the trailer plug will be set up the same way. Wire the connecter onto your compressor so the + goes to charge and the - goes to ground.

Thanks to all and I appreciate your support. I’m a little hesitant with these new trucks with all the tech stuff nowadays. My Previous trucks were so simple. Thanks again for welcoming me to this forum.
