I wouldn’t take it to the dealership. Heard some huge repair bills from that route.

Private shop could be around 7-800.00 to fix.

    What’s wrong with stock?
I replaced the one deep inside the dash of my old 03 Silverado. A pain because I had to rip the whole dash out to get to it.

The one on my wife’s 01 4Runner was easy. Ten minutes tops. After two years of a whining noise coming from under the passengers side dash, I took it to stealer. They said it wasn’t the actuator but rather the blower motor ($$$$). I knew that wasn’t right because the noise continued even with fan/ac/heat turned off. I played with the controls an saw that nothing changed and I was not getting heat. I was lucky enough to find a comparable actuator and swapped it out. Three screws and a wiring plug later no noise and plenty of heat when I need it.

If you’re handy go for it.
