    Hi Guys,

I had a Viper alarm system installed a year or so ago for the auto start function. I don't like the alarm or chirping and prefer the Toyota sound. Will simply clipping the horn wire and capping it solve the issue? Currently the oem noise is going off at the same time as the viper noise. To further complicate the issue, alarm is Viper only and isn't the trucks horn which I believe is the oem default.

I wish a simple sequence of button pushes would place it in silent mode. Any suggestions are welcomed. So far I've simply accepted it as the pros outweighed the cons. Can't believe Toyota and the auto start / door insanity.

You can usually do a passive arming/ no noise by pressing f1 before you lock or unlock. I am sure there is also an option to shut it off completely. If you go to their website they have manuals for their remotes and many options available after you access the remote menu. All the remotes are a little different.

Also if you pick up a Carista adapter about $30 on Amazon sometimes on sale, you can turn the horn off on the factory settings.

That's a start guys... Thanks. I've passively armed before but I'll continue with the reading. Thank you

What alarm model do you have? It’s not that hard to put it in silent mode
