Viper DS4 remote start

I just purchased a 2021 Tundra SR5 with keyed ignition, however it looks like the previous owner had a viper ds4 system installed. Unfortunately no fobs where given to me by the dealer and after checking with them apparently they don't have them.

Does anyone know how I would go about making it function with my phone, get fobs/program them or is this something that I have to go to a viper dealer for ?

I did what Google research I could and found a few videos but apparently there is a QR code somewhere that's needed for the viper app and haven't had alot of luck on the fobs....

Maybe share the resolution to your issues - maybe some else can benefit.

 

I guess I can try to the best of my understanding anyway.

Problem :
So bought a cpo 2021 sr5 about 2 weeks ago that the previous lease holder had a viper remote start system installed in, no viper fobs from the dealer and he couldn't make the Toyota fobs start the truck. The only thing I had to go on was a work order type invoice from best buys geek squad that wasn't very helpful. Tried the Google fu and didn't have much success, took the truck to best buy and after about 15 mins the geek squad guy gave up trying to get something from the invoice and gave me the national geek squad number and assured me they could help. Don't know never called them so can't say.

Solution :
Being quite annoyed at the best buy guy I happened to be heading to Home depot and on the way past a local business that's usually or at least to me associated more with wheels/tints and noticed he had a sign out by the road advertising remote start installs. I stopped and briefly outlined my issue, was told he no longer installed viper equipment but took a look anyway verified I did have a viper ds4 unit installed and then using lock-unlock-hold lock he started the truck with the Toyota fob. Yay!
For those needing remote start install or wheels/tints in the lower hudson valley.

Part 2 solution :
Ok so now I have fob actuated remote start great, but when I google the ds4 unit it's supposed to have bluetooth capability that allows for starting from a cellphone. I downloaded the app and followed the below instructions that I found on a tacoma forum.

Truck unlocked via fob
Key in the On position
Push the button on the rf antenna once then push and hold until the blue light starts flashing which means it's in pairing mode
Follow prompts on viper app

The only part of which that was not well explained by the app was to unlock the truck with the fob to disarm the viper module

 

I have the same DS4. Go to a place that installs vipers and they can take care of you. Or call viper and they can help you hook it up to your phone. Plus yoou can get a remote from Amazon and have them program it for you.

 

Hey guys, where exactly would I find the remote start module? I was told my truck had it when I bought used, was given an aftermarket remote that didn’t work, and was told it did and that the factory fob would also work. It never did. Hoping to locate the module itself and see what I can find, such as manufacturer, or maybe that it’s not even in there.
For what it’s worth, I got a steal on the truck at the beginning of the pandemic, didn’t really care enough to push the anything-but-helpful lot I bought it from.

 

My module is behind the panel just below the steering wheel, locate left of tge steering wheel and zip tied to some other wiring.
