I know it's been talked about already, i.e. low voice and/or volume doesn't go low enough to hear the voice. My question is, during the final stages of development/testing, wouldn't you think some engineer notices that the voice is too low and/or the volume doesn't allow you to properly hear the text message? Maybe I'm living in a fantasy land, but I would think "everything" would be tested and verified before the truck actually goes into production. I know some issues arise later after real world operation, hence recalls. Seems like every function of a vehicle would be tested to ensure it works as designed BEFORE Toyota says "the truck is complete, start production".

If you're referring to a spoken Siri voice through Apple car play, then what you need to do is adjust the trucks radio volume knob as the voice(audio) is being spoken. This will adjust the volume of Siri's voice.

I use voice to txt all the time on my apple watch series 7 and never have any issues. I was actually surprised by how accurate it was.

You are correct but the max volume on Siri seems capped very low

Then maybe there's an issue with mine. When the text is being read to me, I can turn the volume knob wide open and there is no change to the voice or the music that is playing.

Yeah the volume won’t change when she is reading the message. This is one of the few things that is irritating to me about the truck. It’s probably something with Apple and Toyotas systems that just don’t line up with each other. That doesn’t seem unusual with Apple stuff to work a little wonky with other systems. When I press the gas pedal and hear that whistle, all is forgiven.

Try out the newest version of Android Auto, it works perfect! I can't put into words how much better it is than the stock system.

The method I described has always worked with my other vehicles but they where always connected with the USB cable. the Tundra uses Bluetooth. Try the same steps I described but use the iPhones volume buttons.

No problem here adjusting Siri volume while she is reading text. Works like it should…I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Strange…mine raises her spoken volume perfectly when texts are being read also no matter how loud my music is…did it both with my iPhone 8+ and the 14+ I just switched over to.

If you want to adjust the voice audio volume, while its "talking" use the volume controls on the steering wheel. This will adjust the volume of the voice, turning the knob wont do it. Cheers

For me the knob does work when Siri is talking, but it only goes to a point. Sadly not quite loud enough. I’m gonna try Adam B’s idea and see if it works, better.

I have figured out the fix if you can’t hear Siri or your texts at all
    All in the settings section
    1. Go to Bluetooth and devices
    2. Disconnect your iPhone from “use for Apple CarPlay” and then connect it to “use for phone”
    3. Go to the Sounds and Media menu and then the levels menu
    4. The “ringtone”, “new message” and “received volume” can all be adjusted now.
    5. Then you can go back and reconnect to Apple CarPlay

This all worked for me, it does seem to lower the volume some, but probably not enough.

What accent do you have? Big tech thinks you are stupid if you have an American regional accent and therefore could never afford their product. Even though 3/4 of them are Indian to include many CEOs with thick accents. I bet all the tech understands the Indian accent with 100% accuracy.

The automated phone menus fro credit card companies are the absolute worst
