Wanted AWESafe JBL with Nav harness

They didn’t ship me the right harness and it’s out of stock on Amazon now. Does anyone happen to have this harness to get my backup camera working that they aren’t using?

 

Same issue here, I emailed and they responded saying the harness was back in stock, I was able to order it, and then it immediately went back out of stock. Mine won’t be here until the 11th-27th so I guess it’s coming from China. The directions that came with the unit made it seem like the harness would work with the jbl amp and backup cam but I can’t seem to get it to work.

 

They seem hesitant to send me one. It has taken lots of messages back and forth in the chat function on the site, with a day or 2 between responses. It started with them asking what I need, to send them a photo of what I have, then saying they don’t support JBL, to saying it’s out of stock and will take 15-20 days to come from China, but I still don’t have confirmation they are going to send it. Customer service is a bit lacking IMO.

 

I dunno what the deal is honestly. I know that people with the jbl amplifier who have been able to get the correct harness have said their stock backup camera and steering wheel controls work as expected after installation. So it’s not that they don’t support JBL, it’s that production of the required harness has become more difficult for them. I went down the same rabbit hole as you, and eventually they made the harness available on Amazon for me to purchase but I dunno if it’ll ever actually show up. There’s gotta be a way to make the harness that comes in the box work with the jbl amp. I was able to install it with the supplied harness and everything but the backup camera works; when you put the vehicle in reserve it just goes to a black screen

 

I’m close to giving up and getting the Joying unit instead.

 

I got the unit off Amazon and they didn't send the correct harness. I'm still waiting for it but about to just return the unit if it doesn't show in a few days.

 

How long have you been waiting? I’m thinking to RMA mine and order it again when/if the harness is available.

They are telling me they will send it when it’s available.

 

Its been a couple of weeks

 

Finally got my harness and will try to install this weekend.

 

Showing as available on Amazon right now. Has an expected delivery date of Nov 8 though

 

Go the new harness installed and everything works.

 

Bought the harness from Amazon, they ended up sending me the wrong one after waiting weeks for it with no backup camera. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the right harness. I’ve already setup a return/replacement for this one but it’s saying delivery isn’t until november

 

What year is your Sequoia? I was told that the 2015 was an oddball as it has a different harness than all the others. Something to do with a the mid year refresh.

And of course I have a 2015.

 

It’s a 2013 platinum with the JBL amp and factory camera. The harness they sent with the head unit works, but the steering wheel controls and backup camera don’t work. The one that came from Amazon was just completely wrong, I think it’s for a VW or BMW
