That can't be right. I called them to order the Pro exhaust until they wanted $450 for shipping. That was the deal breaker.

 

A bunch of dealers advertise lower prices and then make up the difference in shipping. It usually adds up to what the other dealers price the stuff at. The key is to find one of those dealers close enough to you to pick it up yourself. It may take some shopping around online. My local dealer prices all their parts at the upper end of what the dealers charge. But there is another dealer about an hour away that prices like Sparks does. When I got my headlights and some other stuff I drove there to pick them up and saved hundreds.

Usually if a dealer doesn't have a way to search parts prices on their website they are among the highest (like my local dealer). Then in the middle are dealers that have a parts website. Then there are lower priced places places like sparks that do what I described above. At the lower end is places like Cool Springs or McGeorge that have the lower prices and shipping is reasonable or free if you spend enough. Unfortunately Cool Springs stopped selling out of state and McGeorge doesn't always have what you want on hand.

My local dealer has an online parts store that is much cheaper than the parts counter at the same dealership. I’d check to see if the one near you has the same. You can order online and pickup at the local dealership parts counter. I do this for almost all my parts.

This for example would be $665 if I walked into the dealership vs ordering from same dealership online and picking up and also avoid the shipping charges.

 

What I have had good luck doing is to get the best pricing from several different dealers (anywhere), print copies of their dealer pricing and then take them to my local dealer and ask them to match the price. It has worked every time.

 

How about the name of that TOWN tho…

 

They usually have sales during national holidays. Wait a week for Labor Day. Memorial Day was 10% off merchandise, iirc.

Yea, there's something wonky about their online shipping calculator. Even though the OP’s quote was extreme, I priced out 4 wheels ((TRD Pro) for my son’s Taco and they wanted $400 for shipping. BAM only charged $90 and they are physically further from my address.

 

Go to https://parts.sparkstoyota.com/ and search for the same part number.
Notice that they have free shipping (enter the code) for orders over $75.

not everything that is on the sparks parts site is available on the parts.sparkstoyota site, but a lot is.

Also check local dealers.

 

I always find a dealership with the lowest price, screen shot the price, and then take it to my local dealership who will always match their price. So No Shipping and usually takes 2 days tops.

I’m thinking about getting the brushed aluminum steps (pt212-3407C) for $425.61 which is about $10 less than sparks price.

Ask your parts manager if they will match other dealerships. In my area Toyota parts Boch Toyota South site has really good prices and my local dealership will match them no problem.

 

I know that 13k is wrong but the shipping on the TRD skid plate was more than the sale price a couple years ago. I just drove to the place. Less than 2 hours to Myrtle Beach.

 

Yeah - I haven’t had that luck here. Local parts department wants MSRP and if you ask them to price match there just smile and say “sorry”

Are they only dealership near by? I have 3 all within 20-30 minutes so my dealer knows I’ll just go to another dealer not only for parts but also for their Service Dept.

I’d give it another try, speak to the parts manager or the dealership GM. If they tell you sorry then let them know you will take your business elsewhere as well as getting your truck/vehicle(s) serviced. Plus let them know the review you’ll post won’t be flattering either.

Cost nothing to ask. I can’t stand dealerships that aren’t willing to negotiate. Tried to get a deal on my Tundra with a previous dealership I bought a truck from and they said “the demand is high and the inventory is low. So we are marking up the prices 3-5K”. So I went to another dealer…still not happy that I had to pay Sticker Price but right now it seems No dealership is giving discounts. Excluding college/military from Toyota if your financing thru Toyota. Which I’m not.

 

I’ve been buying mods and parts for my Toyotas since my first Tundra purchase in 2009. Of the 9+ dealers in a 50 mile radius, there is ONE that sells below MSRP (but typically not by a whole lot) and they are over an hour drive for me. All the rest know it and don’t care.

I price everything through several online stores and the one that does sell under MSRP (they also have an online store). If it’s big enough of a purchase AND the price difference is enough to make my drive time both ways worth it, I’ll buy through them. But usually the shipped price (using deals like the free shipping over $75 on Sparks’ other website) is a wash and I can have it delivered directly to my house or my office and not bother driving.

Crazy what some dealerships do, the same one that’s now marking up “all” their new Toyota's had a Lunar Rock Pro on their website for 65K…that’s 10K over sticker price. And somebody bought it. They coulda looked at other sites close by and found another inbound Lunar Rock Pro, almost exactly the same sticker price of 55K and change and got that one for Sticker.

The Tundra demand is extremely high now since it’s the last of the big V8s. In my area every Tundra is SOLD before it even leaves the San Antonio plant. I’m one of those that just had to have that V8 one last time!

It is funny, but Sparks can be expensive with the shipping.

Almost all Toyota dealerships have an online parts dept. It usually will have a www.parts.xxyourtoyotadealer.com. For example, www.parts.daytonatoyota.com. Check it out, I found it works for most, not all.

The Daytona Toyota parts online will usually price match and give a discount on shipping or free shipping if over $75. The other dealerships in central Florida don't seem to want to price match. Toyota of Orlando is where I service my Tundra b/c they have really good service specials, like BOGO free oil changes. The service advisors really take care of me b/c I had the last Tundra serviced there and my wife's Rav4 as well. When I'm there, I'll look up OEM parts and go to parts and they just won't match. To top it off, one of the guys is a real smug douche about it as well.
Winter Park Autonation Toyota where I bought this latest truck, doesn't have as good of service specials, but the parts dept is jam packed with aftermarket parts, K&N, level and lift kits, etc. I got my leather seats through them, but I can get aftermarket and OEM cheaper online.

 

Just picked up up my 2021 crew limited 4x4 from them 2 days ago! Going to check with them for parts..Sparks is out of their mind if they think I am going to spend that much $$. I want my truck the way I want, but I am not going to pay $125 shipping for a 1 pound package.

During the CZU fire Santa Cruz mtns 2020 we evacuated to Placerville. My wife decided we need a camper. Much searching on line she found one brand new in Alabama. Shipping was $4800 to Ca. Having nothing to do to being evacuated off she went to get it. 5kmi and $1500 in fuel in 5 days she was back with it. Sometimes it pays you to go get it. Free road trip.
