Well, changed my oil tonight, went to fill washer fluid and most of it leaked out. Seems to be where the filer neck meets the tank. Is there a gasket there holding them together, or is this a replace the entire assembly thing?

There's a gasket. The filler neck literally slides into the reservoir. Unclip the filler neck from the hood support, and you should be able to pull it straight up, and out. Not sure what the part number is, but you can take your wheel well liner out on the pass side, and see if your reservoir is busted.

I looked down and saw the reservoir was still full, so it just seems to be the gasket.

Had similar issue….as @Tundra2 said and you noted, there is a gasket. What I surmised was I had been in that area when putting my @SouthPaw halos in. I must have bumped it up in upward direction just enough to cause a leak. You can literally raise it approx 1/2 in out of grommet.

You can unclip and check the tube for leaks fairly easily.

PHM seemed to think you could "fluff" that gasket with 303 to make it seal better. I did that, but saw no change as I had no leak before hand.

I was about to go look up the parts for you, but you don't have your truck year/make/model listed in your profile, so I guess I'll go look up for my year of truck and see what I find.

Thanks for looking that up, @BubbaW

Here's what I'd say. I'm going to link up two diagrams which pertain to our truck.

    https://parts.toyota.com/a/Toyota__/__6711145/WINDSHIELD-WASHER/841420-8503.html

    https://parts.toyota.com/a/Toyota__/62968781__6711141/WINDSHIELD-WASHER/663410-8503.html

So, if you look at the 1st diagram, whose silhouette absolutely matches our trucks, there appears to be no part for that bushing or grommet or seal.

However, if you look at the 2nd diagram, whose silhouette looks like an FJ, there is a part listed with the tag "85336D" which visibly appears it could be the part, its page is linked here, and is listed as p/n 85336-30160 or 8533630160. They call it "Packing". Is it the right part? WHO KNOWS?! :p

The part 8533630160 says it fits my truck. But you'd need to plug in your VIN at parts.toyota.com to see if it fits yours, and with the vague ass descriptions Toyota uses in the parts catalogs ... sometimes the best thing to do is run to fleabay or Google and look up the part number to see if you can get a picture of the actual part.

Here's pictures of that part, if it helps. Does it look right?

Looks similar. Wish there was a ruler behind the part for scale. Pics are not so great for size. I learned that during my fuckboy days.

Toyota only has a few sticker sizes. If I remember right, the one above is ~2.25" and the one larger is ~3.75"

But let me see if I can dig up specs. Sometimes people will list parts on a measured grid.

Dang, can’t believe it’s been since 21 that I posted this. Well, the part listed above was WAY too small, and the dealer said the gasket is not available. I went to Oreilly tonight and got some RTV gasket maker and sealed the rubber ring and then sealed the filler tube. Will see how it holds up.

Parts system was a tad different a couple years ago, but here is the exploded for your exact make/model: https://parts.toyota.com/a/Toyota_2...16_6711145/WINDSHIELD-WASHER/841420-8503.html

The thing with Toyota's parts is this: Sometimes the part comes individually, and you can straight-up buy it by itself. Sometimes, it comes as an assembly, like where you'd need to buy the top half, and the rubber would come pre-installed on that. Otherwise, you're buying the entire assembly, similar to what they force you to do with the 3rd brake light, you can't buy only the foam gasket for the 3rd brake light, you must buy the entire assembly, although you can strangely buy all the other little pieces.

My next wild ass guess would be it's probably one of the latter two. Like, you either need to buy the top part, the filler neck assembly thing (85301 in this pic, p/n: 853010C020) or you need to buy the reservoir assembly (85330 in this pic, p/n: 853150C030 if yours has the integrated level warning switch, 853150C010 if it doesn't). And it appears it's the latter, because I looked up the tank at ToyotaPartsDeal and it clearly shows the gasket at the mouth of the tank, pre-installed (see pic after the exploded)

    upload_2023-3-14_8-46-22.jpg

And here's a pic of the tank with gasket pre-installed, with the low-level sensor switch provision (you'd buy the other part if you don't have that sensor installed in the bottom of the tank).

Note you can get this same part on fleaBay, potentially non-OEM, with the gasket, for aroudn $40.

    upload_2023-3-14_8-55-20.jpg
    And without that provision:

Does anyone know how to replace the fluid level sensor? Are there bolts I need to remove or is this just something I need to pull hard on?

I see above the part I need to replace is 85397. Or maybe I just need to clean it. Afraid of breaking things.

This has come up a bunch of times but I don't remember a definitive answer. I feel like the consensus was it's embedded into the housing in a way that made it difficult but my memory is old and crusty.
