Quick question...the past few days I've noticed some water streaks on my front windshield. I use my wiper/wiper fluid and notice that the streaks are on the inside of the glass. Multiple streaks that start at the top of the windshield and make it about half way down the glass. We've have some weird weather here lately which has frosted my truck but then the sun comes out and warms my truck up rather quickly. I'm wondering if this could be condensation? Since my truck sits outside this could be annoying cleaning my front windshield daily. Anyone experience this and have a quick remedy? Thanks

Had crazy weather here in North TX lately too. Last weekend when I came out of work to head home after a large temperature swing and rainy day the inside of my windshield and drivers door were covered with condensation. It was just as bad on those 2 windows as it was on the outside of the windshield. I didn't notice it was the inside of the windows until i realized the windshield wipers where not clearing the windshield. Thankfully I carry a large microfiber cloth in my truck and was able to wipe the inside of the windows down.

You don't have a teenage son borrowing your truck for dates?:rofl::rofl: Seriously, sounds like something you might want the dealer to look at. You could run a little test by spraying it with a hose?

I've driven in the rain and snow and no signs of leaks, it only seems to appear during those times where condensation can occur, cold/frost outside and truck warms up from the sun. Today when I got in the outside temp was high 30's, but the sun had warmed the inside of the truck alot....I'm just wondering what I can do to keep this from happening...roll windows down just enough to keep airflow?

Condensation due to weather. Keep the airflow going. Will be alright when it warms up and the air temp is drier

Never had this happen before on any of my other vehicles and they all have been parked in the same spot. May throw some window rain guards on and crack the windows and see if that helps. I only notice it on days that have frost but then get warm. Hoping its just condensation....would think if its a real leak I'd notice it when its raining

I would give your truck a good once over looking for any leaks. Are your floor mats damp or wet? Is the carpet under your mats damp or wet? Our trucks, especially your new one are extremely airtight so there's no air movement when it's parked overnight. Relative humidity coming from something wet inside the truck will condense on the windshield as the air warms inside the truck and because there's no air movement the humidity can't escape.

It is condensation, I noticed it a time or two on mine. I also noticed it under similar condition on my previous trucks (not Toyota), it is usually worst when you have sow on your floor mats that melts.

Make sure when you park it that you set the climate control to recirculate, that will keep the outside air out, stopping the moisture build up.
Also on new vehicles the new plastics and adhesives used on the interior parts and pieces will off gas leaving all sorts of different visible shading and spots.

I use Adams Polishes Brilliant Glaze on the interior and exterior of the windshield and the exterior of the remaining glass. Hope this helps.

Was the recirculation selected on your HVAC system instead of fresh air?

Take it in for the dealership to look at. It could be nothing or it could be something. At least they will be aware if anything else happens.

I get this all the time. I have a steep driveway so I back in when I park. Snow accumulates on the windshield then the sun comes out and starts to heat things up causing condensation on the inside of the window. I'm at the point of putting a towel on the dash to catch what's running down into the defroster vents.

I'm going to try the recirculate trick mentioned above and see if it helps. I'm going to park the opposite direction as well.

Don't use recirc on the HVAC controls. This will make it worse, and the reason I asked.

I run the floor/defrost on the climate control pretty much all winter to help with moisture control in the cab. The AC system runs on this setting and dries the air out.

Bring this up. I had almost my whole windshield with was frosted this morning. I thought it was outside and when I hit my wipers, the condensation did not go away. I finally reach up and it was water inside. Like someone had sprayed water inside.
I just had it at the dealer for an oil change last week. I will see if tomorrow morning happens again. I’m in Atlanta.
It had rained for 5 days and then a warm day and this morning was 37F

Happens all the time in mine in this snowy climate. Get in with snow on boots or something damp is left in the truck, then have the truck sit for a while where it’s colder outside than inside the truck and you’lol have droplets running down the inside of the windshield. I put defrost on high and hit the recirc button to dry it out. Keeping the inside of the windshield clean helps too, as it cuts down on particles for the condensation to adhere to.

Today at 1:15. I just bought this truck. Took to dealership for them to check out. It has been cold/snow last night. Never had this issue with my 2017 Tundra

^^ is this what everyone is referring too?

If so I’ve had it since I’ve owned a Toyota truck (20 years)

They are air tight and every one of them I owned always would do this windshield/window thing under the proper circumstances.

I agree with those that stated weather..
When some of the cold fronts come in it will layer the inside of the windshield (well, all the glass) in condensation.
Depends on the variation of the temps and humidity levels..

This happens on my 2014 a few times a year in Dallas..

Took the New Truck back in to the dealership for a water pressure test. No faulty gaskets or seals according to the technician. Raining tonight in Alabama....we shall see if any water is under glass in the morning.

Old thread but what ever came of this? I have similar issue on my 2014. Entire windshield was covered in condensation. Can't find any leaks.
