I have an aftermarket Pioneer with Android Auto. Are there any apps that show weather radar on the screen?

I know not about vehicle apps, but I'm well pleased with my iPhone app, RadarScope, which displays raw data from an outfit called Allison House (monthly subscription required). I can select a variety of display products from any national radar installation. Handy at home, now considered a necessity on the road.

My 2018 stock JBL will do this. (Not really helpful. Just thought it was ironic that stock will do it since everyone knocks the stock system)

As far as I can tell, neither Android Auto or Apple CarPlay allow for that kind of functionality at this time.

Not sure if you have SiriusXM in new unit, but they do have a weather alert system that shows a kinda poor radar screen. Maybe see if that is available with your unit?

Custom bug spat pattern hood, grill & bumper. Dead Live Oak leaf collection under hood, cowl and lower fenders. Beach sand custom floor covering.
Same here. Finding out both Apple and Carplay block it due to it being unsafe. I wish it could be overlayed on one of the mapping programs.

I did read somewhere on this forum about an app that allows videos to be watched on the HU so maybe there is hope.

Yep RadarScope. It loads quicker for me on my iPad than Radar Omega. I have both also.

FWIW there is an app for Iphones called Wheather on the Way. to get radar requires a subscription fee. But it is CarPlay enabled if you pay the subscription fee.
Usually my wife is with me and just calls up WSFA weather on her phone. It has a follow me mode for radar so it automatically provides a local radar image. You can move the map around and resize it.

It's free and other than an add on startup it pretty good.

This is funny given that my 2017 stock head unit displays weather radar from the factory haha

I connected to it when I got home. It wont connect if the truck is moving. No idea if there is a way around that part or not. I didn't mess with it yet but it looks pretty cool.
