I’ve read through threads about Westcott lift. Most said too harsh and overrated. Those reviews were last year and now Jeff at Westcott has this for the 3rd Gen Tundra and it includes TRD shocks or you have the option to purchase what you want.

2022-’24 TOYOTA TUNDRA TRD PRELOAD COLLAR LIFT KIT
Hoping someone has installed this and have feedback on what they did and the ride quality.
    Thank you.

I had never heard of Westcott before until the 3rd gen. I have never done spacer lift because of all the negative reviews I have heard about. I have always gone with a coilovers set. To me, aftermarket shocks fix the rebound that trucks have. Truck is more planted and less bodyroll. Ride quality is subjective. Some people like the when your going 75-80 in the highway and you hit a dip in the road, that the truck bounces up and down like 2-3 times before it settles. I prefer for the truck to hit the same dip and go down and settle. It's like going over a speed bump, the truck bounces up and down, aftermarket coilovers fix that issue, at least to me it's an issue. So it depends what your looking for as far as ride quality. Also not all coilovers are created equal. There is digressive, linear, progressive.

I wouldn’t do a preload lift again. I’m actually getting my Westcott kit swapped out for dobinsons next week. At first it’s fine, but once you get over the new lift feel, the ride is actually quite annoying and made me dislike driving the truck.

Do a dedicated suspension set up from the beginning and you’ll be much happier.

22 Lifted Limited: What does the dedicated set up look like? It sounds good but what I find in is every set up the set up has a preload on the coilover.
Difference only being Westcott has a fixed preload (not adjustable).
It makes since to me if you take a stock shock with no adjustability and then preload it that it would have a harshness to it. In the new 3 - 1 lift TRD is using a specific longer shock. I think that is so when you preload it you still have plenty of travel. Therefore, a better ride than preloading the stock shock?
My truck is so much fun to drive as is. I want what I have now and better when I lift it. I can only afford to do this once, so it's got to be right.

If I’m not mistaken, the “TRD” shock you referenced is a rebranded Bilstein 5100 shock. Yes the shock body will be longer than the factory bilsteins you have now, but adding their preload collar will still impact quality. I would look at dobinsons, Elka, king or Fox for a dedicated suspension lift.

These systems will offer better ride quality, more travel, and adjustability if you choose the reservoir versions.

I also recommend you look on the 2022+ tundra group on Facebook and search around there.

I appreciate your feed back and inputs. I am now realizing to get better on road and off road handling that this is the direction. I’m in communication with an Eibach believer but all those you listed are on the table.
    Thank you!

I run a Cornfed leveling kit and agree with everyone up above . The ride is not pleasant . Wescott is the same . It adds way too much preload and the truck is not fun any more with it . I gave it 5000 miles to break in and it’s still trash . Waiting on dobinsons ims kit

I too am interested in Dobinson - the KIT has leaf springs on the website and that tells me they are not ready yet. Eibach has a KIT on their website but is not available.
For those wanting to level lift a TRD Sport, it's not clear there is a solution. My limited understanding is the Black Axles on the TRD Sport need to be replaced to the Red Axles like the TRD Off Road. If you know something about that please tell.

I went with the IMS 3/2 kit plus a rear Panhard bar . Just doing an icon diff drop but that might change to Trd axles . They had a good sale so I’m told it’s still another 2 weeks before it’s even shipped but I’m in no hurry . I’ll report back on ride

I also did the Dobinsons IMS 2/1. Their sale in November was priced very well. I’m getting them installed this week and will report back.

Did you end up taking off the wescott? Did you go 2/1 Dobinsons? I have a wescott on the way and i'm having second thoughts on installing it.

I did the wescott on my 23 pro, honestly didn’t feel much of a difference in ride quality, I did go to 35’s at the same time if it matters

Funny because some people say it rode terribly and others say it's not bad. Wescott sells a ton of kits so it must not be horrible. It does seem that the alignment is key to it riding halfway decent. Been waiting 7 weeks for mine, debating just canceling the order and getting Dobinsons.

I like the Cornfed 2/1 kit, it does not break the bank.

I ended up buying TRD Pro take offs.
The tuned fox suspension is awesome.
The Pro sits higher and is level and that's what I wanted. I spent $1600 on the shocks and net $1500 for TRD Pro wheels. I'm 100% stock and that I preferred. No regrets as it's been about 6 months now.

I have installed this kit 4 months ago and i am very happy with it. I also changed out my wheels and tires at the same time. I find that the preload collar lift makes the ride more plush. Of course i watched every video and contacted WD a couple of times for advice. If you follow the notes and tips that you can take out of the videos your off to a good start. You’re better off with a little bit of rake then completely level. You will loose some turning radius. Once the kit was installed my first trip was to get the wheel alignment. None the less, i am very happy with the set up square bumps aren’t as square, washboard isn’t as harsh. But all this is my opinion, im sure that there are many that have a different opinion and that is allowed.IMG_0730.jpg

Can anyone tell me if they installed the rear shock spacer with the westcott 3/1 kit with the new TRD bilstein shocks. It seems like you would not need it, due to the new shocks being longer and providing more travel.

Yes, installed. The R&D team at WD deemed it a necessary part in their kit so yea i installed it. If you think you know better or just don’t care, you can skip it. But there may be consequences if you skip it…

Contact WD and ask them what they think about you skipping that part out, they’ll be happy to answer your question.

Did you have to extend your brake lines after you put in the 35s?
