Hi. I"m new here..I have had a 2010 Tundra for 11 years now. I absolutely love it! Especially since it drives like a car..so smooth! Anyway my husband died in 2016..so, now I'm trying to learn about the car as I need to.. Now, I need to replace the battery. What size battery does the 2010 Tundra, 4.0, V-6 take? and, if I can't find that battery, since I live in Central America...what variations in the size are acceptable?? For example, I think the correct size is 24F, 575 CCA. If I can't find that, can I replace it with an L24, 530 or a L27, 570? I appreciate all the help!

Main things are to replace with a battery that fits in the battery box/location. You can often fit a slightly larger battery in there. Next, the replacement battery should have the same or more CCA- cold cranking amps.

24F is correct, however you may be able to fit a 27F in there. And I think the CCAs you listed seem low, 600-750 CCA seems more appropiate.

A 27F will fit. I put the 27F out of my 2020 into my 2013 before I sold it.

Hi everyone! I never met so many people who love trucks this much! But it is fun, I get so many compliments on my Golden Beauty! ha! Anyway, I've been a bit leery about putting the 27F with higher CCA's in because what I read on the internet is that if your alternator has to work that hard to recharge the battery, you can where out the alternator. That's why I wanted to just go with exactly what the manufacturer says, but I don't remember what the original battery size was, I just am pretty sure the battery plate won't fit a 27F, although there seems to be enough room to put the battery in anyway..Don't want alternator problems... Anyone know what the original manufacturer battery size is?
Hi Baker shack, I am in Nicaragua, we actually shipped the truck over here and it is 1 of 2 Tundras in all of Nicaragua, that's why I can't seem to find exact parts.

Hello, yes the battery plate that the battery sits on seems to fit the 24F size, but the most CCA I can find in that size is 250 instead of 275. I was concerned about putting a larger battery in because I researched on the internet, and it said that a larger battery could where out the alternator faster.. Anyone know about that? This is why I'm inclined to go with the exact specifications that the truck came with...which I think is the 24F. 575. I appreciate good, informed advice!! Nice to talk to you all!

I have had dual group 25 batteries in my truck for years and no issue from the alternator. People run larger batteries all the time with no issues.

Original battery is 24F. Look for one with at least 600CCA, more CCA the better. You will probably find that size with CCA ranging from 600 to 750CCA.

But like I said earlier, 27F will fit and work fine too.

This is an old wive's tale and the exact same argument could be made against using a battery with insufficient CCA, as it will deplete itself more from starting and present a more difficult load to recharge than a more robust battery might otherwise.

I did not know people do larger batteries frequently..but I see pretty much everyone agrees with you. Thank you for the advice.

The bigger the battery the less it has to work to start truck ,and that's easier on the charging system also. Especially if you add alot of lights wired directly to battery later. Go with the 27F

When it comes to batteries size matters. Bigger is always better. 24F is factory. Not sure about the output as my 5.7 has
150Amp alternator. Do you know your alternator output? Once the new battery is in, have a voltmeter check done at
the positive terminal of the battery and ensure that the voltage charge is sufficient. But if everything was working properly
this should just be a formality, it's just worth doublechecking.

Low Mileage. Immaculate all leather interior. Truck runs like a champ. No issues. 5.7liter million mile motor that has had every oil - - Tow package with tow mirrors. - King reservoir shocks front and rear - 6” Pro Comp Lift - SPC Upper Control Arms -20” Monster wheels w/35x13.50 Cooper STT Pro’s - Volant air intake - Maganaflow dual-in/ dual-out exhaust - onboard ViAir compression with tank - Kenwood upgraded audio for CarPlay, etc - Bought from original owner who has done too much to remember or list. - a few things I need help, suggestions and SUPPORT with that just need fixing
My goal once my nearly new battery goes out is to have someone build me a spot for a 2nd battery. Probably overkill. But I’d like to have a power inverter installed but don’t want to get stuck with two dead batteries. That’s me. Others will argue it’s unnecessary but it’s what I want. A 27 should fit fine in your truck, a little more juice than a 24.
