Already posted a few threads about camper towing but love to hear from some 3rd Gen Tundra owners on what camper you are towing? What is your size and weight, also tongue weight if you have it. Are you hybrid or gas? What is your mileage when towing?

    Lots of stuff!
Here is my setup from last year. I have different racks on the truck now.

    Gas Tundra
22' Airstream 4,500 GVW. - 4,200 lbs on the road.
500 Tongue Weight - measured with weigh-safe scale.
Mileage seems to be all over the place but probably closer to 10 to 12 mpg

Great towing experience with this little trailer and this truck.

Yeah your squat is not bad at all....not like I expected to see. If you are ever interested to see your numbers on weight, get the cat scales app. You just pull up, enter the number of the scale (at the microphone) and wait 30 seconds and you have it in an email. You can also do another re weigh for like 3 bucks if within 15 minutes. Really a great way to see how your WDH is moving the weight around and if you need to make any adjustments.

Not an RV but picked up a lawnmower I bought. Trailer is 1000lbs empty. 20.5MPG at 65-75MPH. Loaded I was about 2800lbs and 19.9MPG at 60-70MPH on 2 lane roads. 500 miles RT. I like the tow camera and I think it's pretty smart but I don't really use it. Light load this time but I''m still surprised how little the mileage dropped off and how well the turbos and transmission work.

Nice, very similar to my camper. Air ride suspension....that is factory from Toyota? My camper is a 27' Cougar 22MLS, full load I'm right around 7500 and a 1000 tongue weight. I use a blue oz WDH but guessing I'm going to either need to add Summo Springs or air bags. What kind of gas mileage are you seeing with this?

Smaller. 1680. In a disposable age of big box junk mowers they are really nice pieces of gear.

That sounds too good to be true. I'm coming from an F-150, same engine 3.5 eco and average is 8.5. If even get ANYTHING double digits I will be THRILLED! I will find out here very soon as we have a trip planned up to Acadia in Maine this fall.

There was a reason I asked for 3rd Gen. Was wanting to know things like gas mileage, tow weights, etc, not just a place to post photos.

No worries, just trying to keep it on track and from becoming a runaway of just photos. Appreciate your understanding.

About 1600 lbs payload capacity based on weighing the truck, not based on the door sticker.

Factory air suspension, factory tow mirrors.

WOW....great info! You are very close to what I will be also. Very interesting to see how much your payload improved from actual readings vs the door sticker, out of curiosity what does your door sticker say.....1395? I see you are an SR5 so not a hybrid. What kind of gas mileage do you average?

I posted another thread question regarding trailer set up within the truck, I created two profiles for the two trailers I have but notice my truck will still say trailer detected even with no trailer, when I go and deselect that trailer it now says Temporary Trailer detected. Any idea how to overcome this?

    Thanks for your input.

FYI...like the name... I get it Johnny, another of my fav quotes...."Its 100% pure adrenaline, some guys snort for it, jab a vein for it and all you gotta do is jump!"

My door sticker is 1380 and also a 46 lb deduct for accessories, which could be the air suspension. 1334 net.

MPG is inconclusive at this point. I have not towed with it enough times unfortunately. Generally so far it’s 2 MPH better than what I got with a 2013 Sequoia 5.7 FF.

I’m not sure what’s going on with your trailer readout. If it were me I’d word search a pdf of the manual. Probably delete the two trailers and start over step by step with the manual. Another thought, if there is a fuse associated with the hitch plug on the truck, you could pull that fuse and reinsert it to see if that clears the confusion. maybe also see if there’s any debris or bent pins/abnormal conditions in the hitch plug. After that I guess it’s a trip to the dealer.
