What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

looks good, hole looks clean. I eyeballed a 1 inch oval mine and used about three cutoff wheels on a Dremel tool

Chris make a trip to NJ with the topper lol, it's an idea I've been kicking around, I think I still love my diamondback too much still, but also like the idea of having the extra height. I'll even give you a brand new set of bedslide mini kix boxes I have sitting in my garage. Good luck with your sale, you guys out in like Colorado and California seem to always be selling good stuff, NJ ehhhh not to much.

 

Lol the gas for the trip would cost more than the topper. I used to not be a huge fan of toppers but now with dogs and kids and stuff, they’re just super functional. The bed slide is a game changer with them so that I’m not constantly crawling up in the bed. I also like the windoors just to be able to reach in and grab stuff

Installed some ARK front wheel well splash guards. Much thicker than my beat up OEM ones! Now I need to clean up the rest of the plastic in my wheel wells.

Do the bed stiffeners make a difference?

 

Compressor mount and IR ditch lights and brackets. Will be doing some night vision driving soon.

this will be one of my first mods. How much of a pain was it to run a wire to the battery?

 

It's not too bad, I used some bigger zip ties and dropped the spare tire to route it more easily.

 

I hear ya man. I was only busting your chops especially since I haven't committed to getting 1, just kicking idea. I'd never make you drive that far unless I knew for sure I was going to buy it. I'm also aware I'd have to come bigger than a pair of bedslide minikix for u to make the trip lol.

I agree 100%. I use to think they were only for old men. Well I must be getting old because I'm actually not against the look anymore. I already got the bedslide so I understand the function of that. The exact benefits you mentioned like dogs, kids, bikes, sports, ect. That extra height is a game changer. Instead of trying to squeeze in 2 kids bikes barely fitting under my cover I'd be able to literally just throw in back. Instead of spending a half a day yesterday with a shop vac sucking up dog hair, he'd have his own spot back there. In a pinch it's also another sleeping option.

Dont get me wrong I love this setup and it's been working for me. However there are times due to height of bedslide and bed cover I'm fighting to get things back there. I've even had to use the rear of the cab over the bed because I didn't know in advance i was picking up something with height so didnt remove the cover before and didn't want to tie on top. I'm not 100% sold on a topper but it's growing on me, I definitely see the benefit and the looks are growing, perhaps it's even a bit of function over form, damn I really must be getting old Haha

I cheated on the bed lights and just tapped in to the Gulf States Toyota installed cargo bed lights instead of going to the battery.

 

Haha of course I'd love that. Funny u say, that's why I even mentioned by name when I showed the pic of them off truck lol.

Installation of the rear sway bar is in progress.
Mount to diff and tighten up everything, and it will be done.
