Just bought my 2011 double cab with 8’ bed. I’m adding a used ARE cap with tool boxes on both sides. I’m going to need something low profile. thanks

Does your bed have the factory rails? There are clamps made to fit into the rails, thats that I have on mine.

The issue with the Cap you are getting is really that there is no place to put Clamps in the middle of the cap but the ends are not a problem at all.

When you clamp the ends tight though the cap sort of bows up in the middle a little which makes a less solid connection along the rails and can let water through if the gasket you use is not thick and pliable enough.

I dont have a pic with me of how I did mine but will get one for you and I think it solves the problem really but does require drillin 1 hole in the center of the boxes too,a trade off that I was willing to make.

I used the bottom section of the clamp only under the bed rail and ran a bolt to it from the hole I drilled in the box right where the bolt can catch the clamp bottom and this sandwiches the box into the clamp and they become a single piece of the clamp.

A picture will explain it clearly.

And lets see that truck too!
