What oil filter wrench do you use?

Been looking at oil filter wrenches online and of course there’s a bunch of choices. Is there any specific ones to stay away from? Or just make sure it’s one that fits the filter for the 5.7 on our trucks?

Bought the Motiv. It is very high quality and precisely made. I don’t get impressed too often but from the packaging to the finish on the part itself I was impressed. I was also very happy to see it’s made in the USA.

I am doing oil changes on my Tundra and 4Runner. The dealer had done the previous ones.
The 4Runner was yesterday. The dealer had put the filter on way too tight.
Was not coming off with the 3/8" connected method.
I ended up putting a socket on the Motiv nut, and attached a 1/2 " Torque wrench to break the seal and get it going.
    Impressed with the Motiv.

What was the breakaway torque reading you obtained.

I use the Motiv wrench with drain tool. Worked great on both the Tundra and my wife’s 4Runner. Only have the 4Runner now but it sure does make the job less messy combined with a Fumoto valve.

I can't say what torque the dealer had it at. When I got to the torque wrench I was into it way too long - pissed off, and was just trying to break the seal, gently. My torque wrench if I recall was last used to put on tires so the setting was alot higher. 25-30 ft/lbs
When I installed the filter I hand tigtened and then another 1/4 turn with the 3/8 inserted in the motiv.

    edit
    @bfunke

when I do the Tundra in a couple of weeks, it was the same dealer, so I will start with the torque wrench method this time at 10 ft lbs and go up. let u know.

Another Motivx user here. I’ve removed the plastic filter housings several times without issue. My buddy got a cheap filter tool and has broken every stuck on plastic housing he’s tried to remove with it requiring him to get the cheap parts store metal housings. Definitely worth spending a little more for a quality tools.

MOTIV all the way, The dealer had done the oil change prior to me and I broke the plastic oil filter cap getting it off. Used the steel one that grabbed the "ears" on the filter cap and snapped them right off. The cap was on extremely tight, pretty much destroyed the filter cap getting it off. Fortunately I had planned on switching over the Aluminum one so I had that one hand. Made a heck of a mess!!

I just crawled out from under my Tundra, completing an oil change. I have a cheap chrome one off of Amazon. Works just fine. It was $10-$20. I know that some have had issues with these stripping their cap. I remember having some issue getting the cap off the very first time I did my oil change, but ever since then, it's been a breeze! I think the dealership techs run those caps down with an impacct driver drill, in fear that they'll come off. I would bet that one would never vibrate loose, if the cap were hand tight, with the o-ring that is in there. They do NOT have to be super tight!

Also, fun fact, I had an empty quart bottle of idemitsu ATF fluid laying around, from a drain and fill of ATF yesterday. I cut the bottom of the bottle off, and the top of it literally threaded into the oil fill cap threads! So, it was like a free funnel that locks into place! Game changer over my old trans funnel buddy funnel that I typically use and have to hold! It threads into place and is super solid, freeing up my second hand when pouring a big 5 quart bottle of oil in. Just thought others here might be interested.

I bought the Motiv because I heard good things about it. Great quality. I plan on doing most oil changes for the next 10 yrs and wanted quality.
The last oil change I had the dealer do before my 2 yr free service was up, they cranked on the bottom bolt of the filter soo tight, that I had to break the plastic cartridge cage to remove it. I had previously read about that issue and had a spare metal one ready to go. It seems over the last couple yrs, every time I have the dealer do basic stuff including oil changes, they mess something up. The oil change before, they decided to save time and not mount the lower bumper skirt to the skid plate so it was flapping lose.
