What was your first Toyota Pick-up truck?

I have seen other post like this on other forums that I am on. Thought it would be cool to see how far back others have been driving the legendary Toyota truck.

    Here's mine. A 1990 Toyota "Pick-Up" Extra Cab 4x4 4 cylinder 22RE Automatic.
32x12.5r15 BFG's, Outlaws rims 10 x 15, Add A leaf, Torsion bars tighten up. Pre-Runner light bar. (not shown)

This photo was down at "S" Turns in the Outer Banks, NC on a weekend surf trip. Then we would drive north to Penny's Hill and hang out at family house in Carova Beach.

This thing was a beast, in any terrain. Except going up a mountain. It would go, but Ford Pintos could pass it with those 32's on it. lol.

What's crazy, it's still on the road 31/32 years later.

I wish I never got rid of it!

1994 extended cab 4 cylinder. Bought it with 70,000 miles in 1999. Now has 260,000 miles on it.
A couple mild repairs overall. Never stranded.

First Toyota truck was a 2003 Tacoma Xtra cab. Loved that truck but me and my growing family outgrew it quickly. I know those S turns very well as my cousin lives in Rodanthe. My old Tacoma and Tundras have been parked there many times.

I’ve never seen an 83 extra cab 4wd. I thought they didn’t offer a 4wd in xtra cab until 84.
You don’t happen to have any pictures of this 83 toyota xtra cab 4wd do you?

Honestly it may have been an '84 bought in late '83 early '84. Can't remember that far back and as it was my first marriage and try to repress a lot of that lol. All the pics from back then are in her scrap books.

Most did. Some didn’t… Those ones are now the living classics.

Toyota has never done well with their metal. Even up through the 2000’s :notsure:

I've got pics somewhere but not sure where. A 95 regular cab tacoma. 4wd, V6, 5 speed. That thing was tough as nails and nearly unstoppable! Wouldn't have gotten rid of it if it had ANY room.

2001 Toyota tacoma prerunner. I bought it new off the truck with 5 miles on it . I drove it 275000 miles before trading it in. It was by far the best vehicle I've ever owned.

1981 SR5 with 22R engine. that truck would climb a tree. sold it to go back to school. what an idiot I was.

    I've owned this and

    short-bed-1981-toyota-sr5-comes-with-rare-black-and-silver-overalls-152474-7.jpg
then got talked into getting a diesel in 1987. economy was sucking in 87
    download.jpg
traded that for a 88 with the 22RE engine. check out that amazing xtra cab.
    download-1.jpg

so yes I've had a few Yotas. 5 pickups, 2 Tundras and kept one of those Tundras 11 years.

Early 90’s extended cab 2wd 22re auto. Bought it with spun bearings, fixed it, drove it during college, spun a bearing, and traded it for a dirtbike and a golf cart chassis.

sorry no pics, that was after digital cameras came out, and myspace would save the pics forever.

A 1992 regular 4x4 4cyl 5speed. I bought it from the original owner who lost a brake line and had an accident. Right front corner was pushed in and just barely buckled the frame behind the passenger front wheel. New grill, hood, right fender and little after hours straitening at the local alignment shop and she was 99%. Miss that truck.
