I want to make the center console lid slide forward in my 13 like my 08 did. Need to know what years to look for before I hit the junkyards.

I am the original owner of the 2013.

My '13 behaves the same as my '10. Both lids slide forward. Maybe there is something stuck in yours?

If so I’m gonna feel pretty stupid! I’ve had it since it was new. Mines an SR5, what trim is yours?

Had an '08 SR5 DC, sliding center console. Those that have 2nd gen and say it doesn't, are you guys squeezing the lid mechanism prior to sliding?

Squeeze the opener lever while pulling the console forward.I learned about it the day after I bought my truck....while reading the Owner's Manual.

    Pretty things
This topic comes along from time to time.

I am convinced it is some kind of elaborate hoax or hidden camera show.

YOU'RE NOT GONNA WIN YOU BASS-TRDS! I'm wise to your shenanigans and will NOT be running out to my truck to play with the center console lid... Again.

Took my 2013 lid apart. My lid still has some of the parts of the sliding mechanism, but the tracks it would need to slide on are missing. Also, the upper part of the lid, the part with vinyl, is directly bolted together so it can't slide.

Looks like they could've easily kept this feature instead of having to make new parts to delete it. Most of the sliding parts are still inside, like the black cover that would be exposed when you slide the lid forward.

No one would ever know its even in there so why did they leave it? Makes no sense if they deleted this option to save money!
