It depends on what you want it to be good at.

    Noise?
    Snow/ice?
    Looks?
    Durability
    Rain?
    Lightweight?
    Fuel efficient?

I used to put Michellin LTX A/T2 on my tacoma.

I'll have to find something similar for my new Tundra Limited.

DEFENDER LTX M/S 2 are good tires, specially for durability.

I have toyo open country AT3s on my tundra. I have 17 method 314s and 285/75/17 tires, 33.9” tire. But no rubbing on stock suspension. Love these tires, they do so well in rain and the small along of snow we get in Tennessee.

Any issues with the 17" rims clearance with the brake calipers or anything? Balancing weights a problem? I love the look!

Nope no issues at all. I told discount about the issue with weights hitting the calipers if not placed properly and they were able to get them all mounted and no issues with clearance. 17s definitely give you more options of tires that aren’t E load. The Toyos I got were C load which ride a little softer. I’ve been happy with them so far!

I had the Toyo Open Country AT3s on my 200 Land Cruiser. They wore much faster than the Falken Wildpeaks that they replaced. My Cruiser now has Falken At4Ws and they are great.

My 23 Trd Pro Tundra with the Nokian Outpost nAT slightly taller than stock (33.16") with 275/70r18s. They have good reviews and a bit more tread than the Toyos.

PM me and I can send you a good discount code for SimpleTire for most of what they carry.

    Lots of stuff!
Hi have Toyos on my Limited (really makes no difference) and they are 34" tall with aftermarket wheels. I have a matching spare as well. If I was to do it again, I would get 35" but narrower like 11.5" and use a wheel like the TRD Pro wheel (due to the offset) as they would fit with minimal rubbing.

They have a more aggressive look than the Michelins that came off.

The added weight does have an impact on you MPG's.

I'm probably going to go with the Nitto Recons. From what I hear they are a bit better ride than the Nitto Ridge, sort of a hybrid tire. Had them on my last truck, had no issues and looked good.

At3’s are better in the rain than Terra Grapplers. Always felt I was hydroplaning on those Nittos.

Sweet looking truck. Love your tire + wheel combo. My current plan is to also get 8.5x20 +18 wheels.

@Tundra2stay Might as well start another thread about at what mileage should I change my oil? and another fan favorite of what is the best oil and filter to use??? or yeah and you forgot "what's the biggest size tire I can run??"

There are as many opinions as you want to read about what "xxxxxx" is best for the tundra...do a little research and buy what makes sense for you, you'll usually get exactly what you want rather than take the advice of a bunch of strangers (some stranger than others wink wink @hagrid...)

Welcome to the forum! and take some time to learn how search around you would be surprised at what you can learn...

I have to endorse either the Wildpeak AT4, which are on my truck, or the Cooper AT3 XLT, which are on my son's truck. He works at Discount Tire and he endorses both. I just happen to think the Falken's look better. I've had the Cooper's on 3 previous trucks, all F150s, and loved them too. I go with what my resident expert recommends.

same measurements as 35x11.50 but less weight.
    No rub, ride great
i do have a 1.5" level, not sure if they fit on stock ride or not. Speedo will be off 2-3 mph and you will take a 1-1.5 mpg hit.
IMO the Nitto's are great tires, but get loud after 20k miles, ridge grapplers, terra grappler G2 (the terras suck in the rain after 20k). I've got both the wildpeaks and at3's currently on other vehicles and both are good tires. tundra1.jpg tundra2.jpg

    YMMV

I have had the same set of 35inch nitto ridge grapplers for idk 27,000 miles and rotated them maybe 4 times and they still have plenty of meat in them.

**The key is rotating and doing good alignments, not so much the tire**

**also, try to slow down while turning because this what wares out tires the most especially when your lifted**

However, I think this become’s little bit more complicated if you drive more than 15,000 miles a year and drive a lifted truck. I keep my trip meter set for tire rotations and alignments.

I always ran Goodyear Duratrac on my 2011 Tundra, but have had really good experience with Falken Wildpeak on other vehicles so when the factory tires wear out on my ‘23 I think Wildpeaks are going on

I went for Falken Wildpeak at3w Nice tires and have zero complaints so far. Swapped the tire out from the Yokohama's that the truck came with within a week of owning it.
