So this '18 Tundra was bought used and already lifted. Along with some kind of suspension lift it has 20" Monster rims with 35s. I'd like to drop down to a different wheel (18") but keep the overall 35" tire size. I'm trying to figure out the offset on these wheels so I can try to match it (I've heard you don't want to change offset very much). It looks like these wheels are discontinued but came in either 0 or +18 offset. Is there anyway to figure out offset without removing a tire and doing the measurements? Also, I'm new to this and basically have no idea what I'm doing.

Thanks for the responses. To add to my confusion, I used the fitment guide on the Black Rhino website and everything that is supposed to fit a Tundra in the 18" I want to go with says it is a 12 offset.

Offsets, rim widths, styles etc... are definitely enough to give you a headache the first time you're buying a set for your tundie. I agree with the above posts, looks like a 0 offset. A 12 offset will basically pull your stance in 1.2 cm versus a 0. So long as you have room for whatever rubber you are putting on, its not a huge difference, you should still end up with some poke. Check your clearances on what you have now to see how much room you have to play with (assuming a similar sized tire).

Yep, definitely have a headache :smash:. I was taking a look at Icon wheels. Their fitment guide on the Icon website said a certain type (Icon Rebound) would fit, then I went to a vendor site and used their fitment guide and they said the exact same wheel won't fit.... And I know I don't have any room for error. As is, if my wheels are fully turned and I'm backing up I get a little bit of rubbing. Which is why I'm trying to match the overall diameter of what I have and just drop the wheel size down some. I like the overall look of how the truck sits now so I'm trying to keep that and just drop the wheel size. I want it to be a little more useful if I need to air down offroad. Also, and this is big, the previous owner replaced four wheels and added 35s but never addressed a spare. So the stock spare is underneath the truck. If I have a flat I'm out of luck. So the plan is, get five wheels/tires this time so I can actually replace one if I need to.

I feel you. I ended up with two sets of wheels myself, hopefully that won't happen to you (although I actually love both sets I have). Vendor sites and online guides only give a rough idea of what you can do. There are ALOT of factors that go into it. As for your rubbing, there's answers to that too. 18s are a good size, you can actually fit 17's if you really want to up your sidewall game (even though all the online guides say you can't). There's a ton of us on this forum rolling 17s. How much room do you have between the sidewall of your current tire and the upper control arm?

Thanks for the feedback. I'll have to measure it tomorrow when it's light out and see how much room there is.

Yeah, thats the main place to check for clearance. Wheel well rubs have various solutions that can be applied, but you have to have room for your UCAs.

Anybody think going from +18 offset to +12 would cause any problems? I currently get a tiny bit of rubbing when fully turned and backing up but otherwise good...

I’ve had 25 18 and now 0 offset wheels all took the same amount of trimming

You'll just be moving your tires 5 millimeters (a little less than 1/4 inch) further out. You'll have some increased rub as a result.

Also, make sure any wheels you get are hub centric.

had to remove mud flaps on front and I slightly rub the front fender wells so I ordered bumper shims and that should take care of it but it looks sweet

How can I tell if they are hub centric? I've heard people refer to that when it comes to spacers but I've never really seen it explained.

Also, if I dropped from a +18 offset to a +12 wouldn't my wheels move in a little bit? And my current tire is 13.5 inches wide and the new one would be 12.5 so I'm hoping that would also help with the rubbing. Or am I thinking about this all wrong? I'm new to this....

    Thanks

    https://www.discounttire.com/learn/hub-centric-vs-lug-centric

There's some info. The easiest way to know if wheels you want are hub centric is check the sales info sheet to see if it is indicated as such, and if it's not specifically stated as hub centric I would contact the manufacturer to ask.

If you could get a 12.5 inch wheel that had + 18 offset that would move the tires in a bit
