Not owning a truck before, when I saw that there were no wheel well liners included, I was a little taken aback. Every other vehicle I’ve seen has them so my first question is why don’t trucks have them (ie what’s the advantage of not having them)?

I live in Canada where salty winter roads destroy car frames, so when I thought about the liners I could see a pro and a con to having them. Pro: road grime and salt would be packed into the tubular frame and slung all over the place; and Con: if grime made its way up behind installed liners, it would be harder to get at.

So my second question: are wheel well liners a “thing” in trucks and what are people’s experience either way?

I have wheel well liners. Came on the truck when I bought it new from the dealer. IMHO a total must have. Dear gawd does it make mud clean up easy.

I think, from looking at one on the lot, you are referencing the sound deadening material lining the wheel wells on the 2022s. I though that was strange from a long therm practicality standpoint on a truck.

These were posted by another member…it’s what we get with the 22’s

On the TRD off-road models the middle engine/skid plates is a plastic material and not the same felt as this model (non TRD I believe) has.

You're right, my Tundra is a base SR5 Crewmax. These light weight felt like front and thin plastic rear wheel well liners will be fine for my use, but I stay on the pavement with my 2WD towing most of the time.

    Too many, but not enough....
ARK might have them for the 22 already.

I spec’d them on my last f150 but don’t think it is a factory option for these trucks.

I just received my Tundra SR5 w/ TRD package etc and noticed no fender lining, I can see right into the engine bay up front and almost all the way thru in the back... if I could figure out how to post a picture I would...
