Anyone know where the in-car WiFi antenna is located in the Tundra? Thinking about adding a WeBoost system and would ideally like it to be located near the WiFi broadcaster.

Sharkfin probably has the cell antenna but I'm wondering where the brains of the unit are, along with the antenna that broadcasts the WiFi signal within the truck.

The cellular antenna that connects to the in-car hotspot is more than likely outside of the car. For an OEM this would make way more sense than putting it inside the car just like OEM's used to with the cell phone docks.

One problem the WeBoost solves is that having an outside antenna is always superior to having the antenna inside the car. It makes 0 sense that Toyota would put the cell antenna inside the car so I doubt that a WeBoost would work well with a factory hotspot but have you reached out to them to ask the question? I'm sure it won't be the first time someone has asked this.

I think the WeBoost broadcasting antenna (as opposed to the receiving antenna) would need to be located close to the Toyota sharkfin since that’s where the truck is getting its cell signal. But, since the sharkfin is already high on the roof, I doubt the WeBoost would help much. Would probably make more sense to locate the WeBoost broadcasting antenna inside the vehicle close to the mobile devices themselves. Then they would have WiFi from the truck and cellular from the WeBoost.
