I came from a Tacoma and I’d use the hell outta the bed storage compartments. Was thinking about cutting the bed and adding a Tacoma storage compartment but the damn bed has all these indentations in it (not flat).

Now thinking about mounting an ammo box on the bed rail but wanted to see if y’all had any ideas?

    Too many, but not enough....
I keep my ratchet straps, soft shackles, a safety vest, snatch block and gloves in an ammo box in my bed. It stays put with the bed mat.

One compromise when I compared trims was that 1794 has stupid foam block under rear seat. There are nice after market boxes but I don't want to cut, and I tend to be cheap about stuff like that. So I trimmed what I actually need in truck. Things that made the reduced list, which includes several ratchet straps, are in ziplock freezer bags under the 60% rear seat. I've actually been pleased with how well all stay in place. Simple.

I too came from a Tacoma, where I kept a shovel, ratchet straps, and cargo net in the bed cubbies. I started thinking about adding some in bed storage cubbies, but then I realized the under seat storage already has cutouts to store shovels, and way more room than the Tacoma had in its bed cubbies. I was able to move everything under there and add some stuff like a full tool set. I also have a go bag behind the rear seats.

I keep them under the back seat where they slide around on the hard plastic every time I turn a corner. I really need to do something about that.

In case not everybody knows... 22+ hybrid doesn't have any storage under the rear seat, it's batteries.

I store mine in the door pocket for the driver, along with a D ring and a pair of gloves, and a IR temp gauge. Most other stuff is under the rear seat loose. I have a 2.5g though.

I have a storage box inside the cab to keep stuff out of site. In the back of the truck I keep a heavy duty Plano storage box that’s tied down to keep it up by the tailgate.

In a drawstring bag under the passenger seat, but I have 2 60" over bed rail toolboxes getting delivered on Monday to form my new bed sideboards. Going to be fabbing up my DIY bed floor storage drawers in the coming weeks as well. All will coexist and function with the OEM Trail Ed bedside storage boxes. Under rear seat DIY custom build is coming together soon as well. The end result is going to be a whole mess of dry and secure storage. Lastly, I will fab up frame work over the top, swing in front and swing in/out rear with windows, and add secondary bed rails with the option of either the tonneau cover or a soft topper. Going to be really versatile and give me every option I will ever need for hauling, traveling, camping or working. 5.29's and HD suspension to drag it around and Stoptech/EBC brakes to stop it.

Mine go under the rear seat in the storage bin (obviously non-hybrid). Haven't had a problem with them sliding around but I am debating a tool box in the bed. I'm trying to decide between a tool box or another Diamondback bed cover.

    Why not both?

I have a Diamondback cover with the Cross Bin. It stores ratchet straps, traction boards, shovel and anything else I think I could need.

How do you like the diamondback? Do you think you could get 15 or 20 years out of it?

I love it and don't have a single complaint. It's my favorite accessory I've put on the truck so far.

I don't see why it wouldn't last 15 or 20 years. It's aluminum, so it won't rust. The rubber gasket degrading over time would be the biggest concern but that will happen with rubber gaskets on anything. When/if the time comes, replacing it shouldn't be too hard even if I have to get one made locally if Diamondback has ceased to exist.

Not sure if this is possible on the Gen 3, but I have boxes that's made to slide under things, kind of like a plastic shoe box, and I slide them under the front seats of my Titan, it has power seats, and there's still enough room for 2 boxes under each seat for a total of 4. And I keep the straps, bungees and other miscellaneous stuff in them.
Hope I can keep doing that when I get a new Tundra!

Do you happen to keep a piece of cheater pipe in your box? Used to keep a piece of 4’ conduit in there but have since taken it out and replaced with impact gun. Debating if I should put it back in or if I’m the only one who carries something like that

Yep. Plano for the win. It’s a solid $25 solution. Mine is clipped to a corner tie-down point. Just makes it easy to remove and toss in the garage if needed.

I also have the ESP long box storage. But I like to keep the things I’ll need to use outside the truck (compressor, tire repair kit, ratchet straps, recovery strap, tools, etc) in the bed.

I keep a breaker bar with an extension and socket for my lug nuts. I do have a piece of conduit kicking around that I've thought about putting in but I've never come across something the breaker can't get free.

On a shelf in the garage until I need them...

Then I just throw them in the back footwell if I need to drive before using them. They're rubbed banded so they won't get tangled.

There is no flat space. I’ve been really thinking about it. If these useless indentations weren’t in the bed, I’d do it.

Unfortunately the indentations are necessary to add strength. I keep mine in a Storage tub like the others here in the bed, but have a camper shell on mine that locks. In my other truck, I added a toolbox in the bed for things like this.

I usually have these in the esp box, but this pistol box nicely holds 4 small straps and almost fits under the seat.
