Hey everyone, so I've got a 2008 Toyota Tundra running stock 255/70/R18 Bridgestone Duelers on it. I primarily do Highway/Road driving but there's been more times lately where I've been off-road, at boat ramps, etc. where an All-Terrain tire would have been helpful.
I've also debated going up to a 275/70/R18 tire so I would have more tire but not so much to have a worry of rubbing or having to trim in the fenders and still stay somewhat reliable on the highway (I know our Tundras aren't known for the Gas mileage of course)

I've heard people mention BF Goodrich KO2s, Falken Wildpeak A/Ts, Goodyear Wrangler Ultraterrain A/Ts, Nitto Terra Grapplers, etc.

What do you run on your rig and whats given you the best results?

Just put on a set of Falken Wildpeak AT3s in 275/70R18 on my 2019 SR DC. I got a good deal they were $185/tire at Wally.

So far I really like them - smooth and quiet. Time will tell how well they wear.

she needs a bath, just finished installing a 2.5/1 leveling kit.

I have really do NOT like the Bridgestone Duelers. One other tire you may want to consider is the Michelin DEFENDER LTX M/S at around $216. See this post: https://www.tundras.com/threads/what-is-your-favorite-tire.65234/page-2#post-1702132

I am recommending it as you do "primarily do Highway/Road driving but there's been more times lately where I've been off-road, at boat ramps, etc. where an All-Terrain tire would have been helpful." You usage seems very similar to mine.

My personal opinion is not to get an very aggressive tire if mostly a street driven truck. But the Michelin will have enough bite to meet your specific needs. Others like Michelins and may want to chime in.

As far as going up in tire size, see this excellent post. It should help. https://www.tundras.com/threads/largest-tire-you-can-run-stock-for-all-generations.9762/

Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 suspension, HD RAS, 285/75-18 Nokian Outpost AT, LoPro bed cover, TRD rear sway bar, DD 10 inch exhaust, and various other goodies
Also have to mention...moving from the stock size to 275/70-18 generally means moving to an E rated tire....bit stiffer ride and a heavier tire so will have a little hit on MPG.

I will 2nd the Michelin DEFENDER LTX M/S....great tire for street, wet, snow and occasional off road.

If more aggressive looks are important to you there are some hybrid type ATs out there that are great. All the ones you listed are solid choices. Also Cooper XLTs, Dynapro ATM or ATP or even the Pathfinder AT if budget is lower. Prices vary between them up to about $100 per tire, Pathfinder on the low end and Nittos on the high.

That truck looks awesome, love the level! I think I went with a 3/1 leveling kit on mine a number of years back.:mudding:A little mud never hurts!

I wouldn't mind a little more aggressive but of course with that would obviously come some more road noise. I'll check out the Defender LTX M/S for sure.
Only reason I've gone with the Bridgestone Duelers is you can find stock "take-offs" for around $100 a tire online, so for around $400 it was easy to put new rubber on the truck for the daily commute, I could probably find some other brands too for a little more if I kept the stock size. Dealerships can sometimes sell them cheap if people ask but I did Ebay for years...now I want to upgrade:rofl:

Thanks ! I researched for about 6 months and went with the Bilstein 6112s at 1.9" with 2 shims on driver side and 1 shim on passenger side, and Toytec shackles at +1" with 5100 shocks in rear. Big improvement in the ride and the level turned out exactly how I wanted with a slight (1") rake. Here is a better picture (she needs a bath)...its what I call the "Poor Mans TRD Pro", since I started with a base model 2019 SR DC. IMG_7717.jpg

Bridgestone Duelers suck (in my opinion). I used to have a Ridgeline and got suck with Bridgestone Duelers more than once. When they wore out, I happily went back to Michelin. Twice as much grip in snow. There a YouTube video where a guy takes his Tundra through mud and seems surprised how well the Michelins perform.

Michelin Defender LTX M/S. I had them on my 2008 4Runner, and now on my Rock Warrior. Awesome tires! Very quiet and smooth ride.

I just put on some Wildpeaks and I'm happy with them (275/65/18). They are quiet enough on the road and they have done well off road so far. I didn't get as good of a deal as glowblue (smoking deal IMHO), I paid $250 per tire mounted, balanced, tax & tire disposal (all fees included basically).

My friend put Wildpeaks on a brand new GMC Sierra. They wore terribly unevenly with visible, substantial wear after 10k miles. He took the truck in multiple times thinking maybe it was an alignment issue and time after time alignment numbers checked out. He ended up putting some Cooper tires on the same truck with the same alignment, ran them in the same manner and they still look new after nearly the same amount of time on the vehicle.

I've never run Wildpeaks, but I had similar experiences as my friend running Falken street tires like the ZIEX and the Azenis. For these reasons I would not personally consider Falken tires.

You asked for opinions, just giving mine. Not meant to be offensive to those who purchased them and like them.

I would say consider the Discoverer AT3 XLT in this size/style/price range. It's a great tire with a 60k warranty.

I just snagged a set of these. Waiting for my 6112/5100's to arrive to get it all done in one shot.
