I'm in a dilemma my heart wants the Black Rims but someone is selling the gunmetal OEM Toyota wheels set with tires 1000.00

My current setup not into the chrome wheels and tires soon to be needing to be replaced possibly end of the year..

Should I wait and pay full price for the black Wheels and Tires or take the plunge and get the Set and just be done with it ..

The first wheels you posted are the TRD wheels, non-forged, cast aluminum. Those routinely pop up on FB marketplace for $400-$1000 for a used set. The second wheel you posted is a TRD Forged wheel, those are quite spendy at $800-$900 per wheel new right now. If you don't care about or need forged wheels, I would go with the first set, and have them painted or powder coated black. Powdercoating non-forged aluminum wheels is safer than powdercoating forged wheels, at least that's the general consensus. How safe powdercoating either seems to be an endless topic of discussion on the internet, with most agreeing/saying that non-forged aluminum wheels can be powdercoated with minimal risk of damage to the wheels, while forged wheels are not recommended to be powdercoated.

If you like the look of the first wheels, you can buy them brand new fully black for a little over $400 per wheel, part number 42611-0C202: 2015-2021 Toyota Tundra Wheel Disc 42611-0C202 | Sparks Parts

If you can get a cheap set of the black/machined version like you posted, you could have them powdercoated or painted and probably save a few hundred bucks over ordering the ones I linked.

I would echo the above comments. Those two wheels are night and day different. That said, the stock OR wheels will never be the forged TRD wheels no matter what you do to them. If you have your heart set on the forged wheels, save up and spend once for exactly what you want.

Another thing I'd point out in addition to the previous comments is that the wheels in the first pic are not gunmetal either. They are machined faces, so that bare part is super shiny, like chrome.

Also, if that's your truck in the pic, any factory wheel is going to look extremely tucked in with the fender flares. The offset will be +60. Do you know the offset of your current wheels?

Also to add, the factory Gunmetal painted wheels came on the 2021 Trail Editions. Part number is 42611-0C351: 2021 Toyota Tundra Wheel Disc 42611-0C351 | American Toyota Parts

Like @GODZILLA said, the first set you posted have machined faces and are off a TRD Off Road. The black version I posted are off a TRD Pro, same wheel just painted all black. The ones I just linked here are the same wheel just painted all grey. Three different finish options, same wheel. Stepping up to the TRD Pro Forged wheels there are I believe 4 options, 3 variations of black, and a bronze version for Land Cruiser 200 Heritage Edition.

Here's a side by side of the OEM TRD (non-forged) options from left to right, TRD Off Road, TRD Pro, TRD Trail Edition

Good point/observation. I believe any of the TRD options pictured above are going to be an 8" wide wheel, 18" diameter, with +60 offset. With fender flares you probably want to run a slightly wider and lesser offset, or combo of both. Same specs go for the TRD forged wheels.

Thank you all for the replies seems like I should hold off and buy once which my preferred method but the only thing is that the current setup I have is 285/55/20 and when I bought a replacement tire it was close to 500 and to replace all 4 its a big hit. which is why I'm looking more into sorta the OEM style with Off Road if I'm making sense I drive about 5,000 miles a month which is why I'm kinda eyeing these two styles of wheels. My current Thread Life is 10/32s so I'm hoping I got a few months until I have to purchase tires

I didn't take into consideration the fender flares on how it would look ( I do want to replace those as well they have scratches ) I don't even know if the truck has a lift or if its like that because of the tires any idea how I can find out I do prefer a leveled look.

    thanks again everyone
