Hey guys, I installed some lights in my hood scoop but not sure how to wire them up. I was thinking about using a wire splice like this

    https://www.amazon.com/Nilight-Term...=&hvlocphy=9061284&hvtargid=pla-2281435177418

or an add a fuse like this

    https://www.autozone.com/electrical...C5Zcco1i1t0JJDJ7fQIjDkvndgs3r8OsaAgqtEALw_wcB

but not sure which wire or which fuse to tap into. I’d like to avoid ruining my trucks headlights obviously and I’m pretty sure I need to be careful with that since they’re LED.

Ideally, I’d like let to come on whenever anything is selected (DRL or automatic headlights) but beggars can’t be choosers I guess. Any advice?

Here’s what they look like with the wires just shoved into an M12 battery

I prefer the AAF method for these types of things. I hate cutting or splicing any wires.

As for the function, I'm not the best on that. Lots of folks choose IGN or Ignition for the Raptor lights, however I don't think it'll function the way you want, and be on anytime the ignition is on.

Thanks dude, this helps a lot. Do they come on when your headlights are on auto too? I think that’s probably the goal for me…

I'd guess they would, I don't have auto headlights.
Whenever there would be power to the parking lights they would come on.

Only issue I can see for you is where to tap into the circut and routing the wiring to the hood..

I have the YotaLEDs and they come wired with the add-a-fuse. They have an option to have a switch but I opted out so they are on all the time the truck is on.

If you wanted to do a fuse tap, you could tap into the 'tail' fuse.
    It powers the parking lights.

It's in the fuse box under the dash.
It SHOULD have power only when the parking lights are on.
