Whining noise??

    Just had 4.88 gears in rear end of 2015 Tundra and I’m getting a whining noise when decelerating anyone have an idea what this could be???

    Did you also do the re-gear on the front? Is the whining coming from the front or the rear of the truck? I don't have the experience to help you, but the fact that you specified only the rear is setting off the warning bells.

    2wd so only did rear. The whine sounds like it’s coming from the front of the truck.

    custom body work, Billies with taco ARB springs, Icon AAL, TRD FJ trail team wheels, 2019 Toyota 86 radio, Blacked out interior, Added factory power everything, heater mirrors, ETC
    Whine on decl is typically related to pinion bearing preload or wear. I’d go take it back.

    Sounds like improper pinion bearing pre-load if you get whining on deceleration.

    I has that happen on on a D44 regear due to hurrying before a weekend trip. I should have just cancelled. That was one expensive weekend.
