Just getting started.... Start X remote starter.
Hey Tundra owners, just wondering why when you disconnect the battery and then reconnect it on the first start up it stalls. After that all is good. I encountered this when I changed my battery 2 years ago and then today I was cleaning the battery posts (before winter starts in the great white north) and on the first start up it it stalls then it is all fine. I do not think anything is wrong as it starts and drives fine after that first stall, just curious...... Any thoughts ??

Mine did this last week Friday when I put in a new battery. Its normal.

I spray fluid film on my battery posts after re-attaching them, keeps the corrosion off but isn't real pretty. Lots of similar products, WD-40 also make a great corrosion inhibitor but I usually have a can of fluid film handy.

Yup, it's not just Tundra, my Outback does it as well. Normal stuff.

My 2019 does it every time.

It also stores an error code related to the false start time & date if I hook up my ObdLink scanner at a later time.

Mine didn't do it when I've disconnected the battery. Started right up like any other vehicle I've swapped the batteries or disconnected.

Only times it's done that for me on any vehicle is when I disconnect and clean the MAFS / Throttle body
