Why no love for destination at2?

    Been looking at tires and debating about it for my 23 sport. I was thinking I'd probably go with the falken wildpeaks that I've had and most here love but stumbled across the f.s. destination at2 and wondered why they're not popular. I did a search here on them and can't find much info, likes, dislikes. They're lighter, cheaper and look pretty similar, atleast in pics. Not these specifically but I've had several sets of Firestone tires over the years and have always liked them.
    Most of my offroad driving (very little) is typically sand and they would seem like a good tire for that. . Atleast as good as the falkens. . Any thoughts on this?

    My wife’s 4Runner came with Destination X/T’s on it. No complaints at all. Like you said, they look good and have really good reviews. I’m thinking about going with them for the truck when it’s time. Just not the type to swap tires before I have to.

    I like those too. . But from what I remember they're only available in LT in the size I want and a good bit heavier. . .

    I just put the Destination AT2 on my truck a hair over 2 weeks ago. They were significantly less than Toyo or K02's. I had been running K02's for the past 5 years and desperately wanted a change.
    So far I have no issues with the Firestone's but you do have to accept that their AT2 is a little different than the others, it has less plies and less tread depth. I don't mind the look, the weight saving let me go up a size and still come out weighing less, and so far their traction is incrediblely better than the K02s. My truck is mainly a highway driver at the moment with the occasional dirt trail to a camp site or trail head, as such I figured I could afford the lower ply count and get a better ride out of it. My biggest complaint with the K02s was their horrible traction is damp conditions, a slight rain and I'd be fishtailing or sliding the back end around a turn (and I'm not a driver that is punching it but more often driving casually). You just really have to look at your needs, and if these work for you, I don't think you will be disappointed. I saved almost $800 buying the Firestone's at Costco compared to if I bought another set of K02's.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

    I'm not even in the same class as Geno! He actually gets to go out and use his truck like a real truck all the time. Super jealous of him. Mine is good for what it is and I'm extremely happy with it :D

    Thanks for the info. . And yes, like you said , mime is mainly highway too. . I just need a little extra something in the sand I MAY occasionally get into down in Florida. Weight capacity is neck and neck with the falkens so don't see an issue towing a 21 ft bay boat.

    Yes, I do vaguely remember that. . Seems like both f.s. AND Ford were responsible for that tragedy. I'm sure they've got it figured out by now, as bad as it was. Heck I had forestone tires (firehawks) on other vehicles back then and they were great. I'm going to talk to the guys at discount( they're usually straight with you) and see what their thoughts are.

    I f-ing love Costco but I wish they had more tire choices. Their prices are cheaper then all the competition though. I’m leaning towards those same Firestones.
