It's cool and everything, but I would need to see out the back window occasionally. Especially if I was hauling something. I'd hate to hear the ATV move and not have a quick way to check it because the tire is in the window.

If you don't want to spend on a bumper with spare tire swing out, I would consider a hitch mount. Rigd has a very versatile one.

hey Gravity, thanks for the input. only thing is for me, rear swing or hitch mount won't really help. since i carry atv, tailgate has to be in the down position while traveling pic for reference

the down side of this set up for me would be the loss of 12.5"s of bed loss, and then all the weight of the atv would then be on the end of the tailgate NO Bueno:hattip:

Yeah, I wouldn't do that. I didn't realize you had a CM. You might be able to do a Diamondback tonneau cover and put the ATV on top of that. They will hold the weight. Then you can carry the spare inside the bed along with your fuel and other accessories.

I've had it on/mounted for about 5k miles, a few light offroad/dirt trails and no issues. But, like you said, that bed space loss + atv = no bueno

Wilco says it holds a 37-40 inch tire?? Thats a lot of weight for a bed rail to hold...

Was thinking the same thing but haven't seen any issues with the bed so far. It helps that the wheel/tire sits flush with the bed too

That was my thought exactly. Not sure if could handle running around in Baja without ripping the bedrail off. I'm sure it would be fine for grated gravel roads, but washboards or the occasional unseen dip might break it loose. I would be carrying a 33" tire.

Oh I like that. I had an extra set of bed rails that I mounted along the side rails of my utility trailer with grade 8 hardware. This would great for adding a spare.

hello! I’m looking at getting one to hold my 37”. My biggest concern was the possibility of the bed rail being damaged as it is the main connection point. But I do like your point that the tire sits flush for added stability. I’d love to hear your overall satisfaction with the product, is it something you’d recommend? Thanks
